Yes, after the contest if over (i.e. results are announced), you can publish your work wherever you wish .

Will an extension till 25th help? We can't really extend too much... but this will give you 5 extra days.

And yes, you can make 500*500 or 500*350 1000*1000 is the maximum size... anything less than that is okay too.
