Yeah China has been building the Medog Hydropower Dam on the Brahmaputra since last year. Its located at the Great Bend in Medog and is set to become one of the most expensive projects in the world, nearly three times bigger than their own Three Gorges Dam.
Although China has assured us that it wont exploit the project and has even agreed to share data for transparency and even after that they were to restrict water flow, Assam’s heavy rainfall would still be enough to compensate. Rainfall and other tributaries in the region contribute nearly 65% of the Brahmaputra’s water within India.
However, the country that would be most affected is Bangladesh, ironically China’s new ally. If India were to restrict water flow to Bangladesh in the same way China might to India, it would be Bangladesh that suffers the most.
No worries about water in the Eastern front. We have enough rainfall here. And we have the most advantage vis-a-vis Bangladesh--- opening the Farakka barrage would cause a disaster.
New York times is confused as hell. Doesn't know which side to support.
I am mostly a silent reader and post here at times. Its so good to see pro-Indian ppl here...All I have seen in past in Anti-Indian posts.
Anyways coming back to topic Military and GOI did a wonderful job in avenging pahlgam. I am not sure where the terrorists are who orchestrated such a heinous crime in name of religion, since there is no pre/post condition for ceasefire, I am a bit underwhelmed. May be GOI cud have negotiated for handing over Masoor Azhad and Hafiz Saeed along with terrorists of pahlgam.
Also I am just wondering will we enter into a war by end of this month? there are some predictions around the same right?
Since IWT is in abeyance , already GOI is closing and opening dam gates at border and now it is Kharif sowing season from May-June in Pakistan. And with this water shortage and flooding of water crops like rice, maize, cotton & sugar cane will be affected. I also hear pak is moving their troops in border... I wont trust pak on this ceasefire and all...not sure if war is on cards or all these are just speculations
is this new??? i think this was posted before the Pahalgam. But he is an open Khalistani supporter, no doubt in this.
We have evidence where pak lacks evidence. Even a normal sat image can say Pak is lying. Howe ever as our armed forces mentioned losses are part of these missions and we lost few aircrafts which is fine...even they lost aircrafts...its part of combat but the thing is we can buy aircrafts again whereas do pak have enough money to buy high end aircrafts?

@Bold
I think the negotiation for Terrorists is open.. PM said in his speech if pakistan wants to talk it will be on this matter only.
Regarding Border Issues.. That's true but in long run.. Pakistan is economically in ruins. So, it's better to wait and see the after effects.
Abt brahmaputra river yeah In China thy call it tsang po..they're making a dam on tht river..so India and Bangladesh will get less water..
But do we really need that much I mean Assam mei sabse zyada rainfall hota hai
Brahmputra is actually called Sorrow of Assam due to its regular flooding.
It doesn't help much to be honest. However the dams could have a different effect. China might flood India (Assam) at will
Now I don't know how much is that possible not a geological expert but this is something sinister China can plan
