Are you sure Crew barely had any promotions? I was seeing its ad everywhere on the social media after the release of its trailer, their songs were also promoted well enough, and it was a multi-starrer on the top of that. Long gone the days the audience aren't attracted to the female lead multi-starrer! While Deva didn't have much catchy songs, yet they could have promoted the song "Bhasad Macha" better. For example Uyi Amma song, it was a trashy song yet the PR of Rasha managed well enough to shove it down to our throat. Compared to it, Bhasad Macha was classy enough IMO.
Anyways, Deva earned well after it's OTT release. Somehow I believe that had the director casted some other well-known female face instead of Pooja Hegde, the movie could've made a profit at least, don't know why but she lacks the aura despite having a good face. Actresses like Pooja doesn't even stand up as a flower pot role, she's better off with multi-starrers like Housefull and in the meanwhile should work on her acting chops better.
