I've to reiterate that I'm neither a Muslima nor,in any way, related to Muslims or living in a Muslim community. In India, I met people from different religions and being curious by nature, had many talks with them, with elders, kids and young adults...in Germany, the situation of the Muslims I talk to, is a bit different from India. Mostly, the young people are second or third generation living here, being the kids of elders who fled their homeland out of fear to get killed. However something already mentioned in this thread is equal, the concept of ummah. A long Western life, although, has started to dilute this concept.

I would like to comment on what you wrote, but beforehand, I want to ask you: Do you live in India? If yes, in what kind of community (well mixed, more Non-Muslim? no Muslim? more Muslim?)?
