Thank you so much! I never thought I would write a shayari. After seeing shayari written by a few members here, I thought about writing one too.

Especially if this is your first time, this is excellent, as it's simple and quite classical. I remember the first time I wrote a shayari when I was probably 12-13. It was so... Lame. Yours has a finesse, and I'm sure this would encourage you to write even more and share them with us!

If you like, you can also read Mirza Ghalib, Faiz, Ahmed Faraz, Jaun Elia, Rumi, Gibran and Gulzar for more exposure to Urdu ghazals and nazm. You can also look out for Hindi poets. These will refine and expand your Urdu vocabulary and diction. You'll also get a hold of the rhythm of the recital.

I never wrote shayari before. When I was a kid, I used to write Bengali poems. But that's something very different. Here's my first attempt at shayari. It's written from Neil's perspective.

Teri yaadein hi sahara hai ab mera

Tu hi fitoor, tu hi ibaadat hai ab mera

Teri aankhon ka noor meri rooh ka marham hai

Tere lafzon ka jadoo meri zindagi ka ilham hai

Tujhe main nahi dekh sakta, badnaseebi hai

Tu phir bhi meri chahat, meri aashna hai

Meri humdard, meri humsafar, tu hi meri taaqat hai

Tera ishq meri taqdeer, tera ishq meri manzil hai

Alfaaz yaadon mein lipata pyaar dastaanon mein simata sa hai....lamho ka afsana zindagi se rojana bita hai....

Iss adhure she'r ko muqammal khamoshi mein nhi kiya jaata dilrooba....Aur iss qadar iss dillagi ko aarzi naa kaha jaata mohtarma....

Tumhara ishq chasni ki mithaas ban shayari farma rha hai kya yhi lazeeka mujhe andar hi andar kha rha hai....

Kyun tumhare daaman ke daag ko apne gusse se bhaanp na paya darroj bhatakkar khud ko aaj bhi bekaraar paya...

Kya issi tarah chhupi muskurahat se apne aansuon ko chhupaogi aur iss qadar dil se dil ki maafi mangwaogi....

Haan pta hai pta hai kya hai humara silsila....hazaaron khwahishon ka nikaal, na tum mujhe mili aur naa main tumhe mila....
