Buddy Read Along of My Big, Fat, Fake Wedding by Lauren Landish

He needs a wife.
I need a husband.
It’s just temporary… what could go wrong?

I’ve always wanted the fairy tale wedding. Not for the princess perfect dress or big party, but for Papa.

My grandfather. The only father figure I’ve ever known.

It’s his dying wish to walk me down the aisle.

Gee, no pressure.

But I can grant that wish...

I just have to fake being head over heels in love with Ross Andrews, my best friend's big brother whom I embarrassingly crushed on all through high school.

Handsome. Knockout sexy. Arrogant jerk extraordinaire.

Our childish pranks and tit-for-tat battles were legendary. Then I grew up.

Not that he ever noticed.

I know it’s a terrible idea, and we’re both in over our heads.

It could be the wedding of a lifetime or a total disaster.

How do we make it to the altar without killing each other first?

Or without falling in love for real?

Tropes

- Contemporary romance

- Enemies to Lovers

- Chick Lit

- Fake Dating

- Humor

- Rom-com / HEA

Making my mark here!

What pace do you want to go at? I haven’t checked how many chapters this book has.

It has about 360 pages, 29 chapters + epilogue. Reading speed can be at your convenience! I can do 1/2 or even 3 chapters per day.

ok that makes 30 chapters. Shall we do 2 chapters a day? I can do more but I’m already doing 2 other read alongs so don’t want to over commit. We can be flexible and increase our pace later if we both feel we want to.

Yeah Lizzie, I’m a part of other read alongs too. 2 chapters a day is perfectly okay with me! I hope we both have a good time smiley27

Okay, then prologue and chapter 1 today (tomorrow for me). Shall we stick to IST- just to make it easier?

Okay - finished prologue and chapter 1. So far this is reminding me of an old Bollywood movie smiley36

Also Colin is such an entitled prick!

Sorry Lizzie, had some work yesterday!

But yea, I have caught up to prologue and chapter 1 & I’m liking it so far! I like probable marriage of convenience tropes smiley36

@b: he totally is ! Loved how Violet didn’t give him the sick satisfaction of seeing her grovel.

I’m in the middle of the second chapter. Let me know when you complete 2&3, we can totally discuss smiley9

I'll start it soon.

Idk if you've watched this movie called 'Dulhan wohi jo piya mann bhaye'. It's an old Hindi movie. This one reminds me of that but gender-swapped. The guy's grandfather is dying and wants to see him happily married to a 'sanskari' girl. The guy is a rich, entitled brat. But to make his grandpa happy (& I think there's some inheritance involved too - it's been a long time since I watched), he gets this 'gaon ki ladki' to pose as his wife. Of course, she falls for him.

Let's see how much this book matches up smiley36
