Poll Three: Total runs and extras if overs are reduced due to rain

Hello members,

This is poll number three and the reason for the poll is to decide whether it is fair give points if overs are reduced due to rain.

If you pick the last option, please provide your suggestions in the comments. Your suggestions will be addressed as we go.

We will leave the poll open for 3 days. Whichever option gets more votes will be implemented ASAP.

If any further voting is required, it will take few more days to implement.

I have voted for all three polls. For first one my suggestion is to find some mechanism by way of which you can award members to whom they have chosen (even if two players can't be chosen in a single catagory but result shows they performed equally).

If the predictions page is kept open till the delayed toss time, then points can be given as members have time to update them accordingly.

That is why we are looking for ways to break the tie.

Thanks for your suggestion. This is an automated system and the main limitation is, we can select only one name. All we do is select a player's name and the rest is taken care by the system.

That is not under our control.

In that case is it possible in the system not to consider total, extras etc. if that is not possible then ppl should get what they have chosen. Some things are uncontrollable.

All may fall under the same category (of chosing more runs, extra etc) and get 0. So it's okay maybe.

As per option 3, you will get points for correct predictions if the overs are reduced before the start of the play and you won't get points if they reduce overs when the match is already in progress.

In case the toss s delayed, we can give points if the prediction window is opened till the delayed toss time and match starts immediately and all the reduced overs are played by both teams. e.g 14 overs like the previous rain game of RCB.

If overs r further reduced then no need to give points to anyone i think.

then I can suggest, assuming there's a tie between players A and B, program to be modified to give bonus points to the members who have chosen player B as system would have already rewarded those who selected player A. This will be an occasional program to be run manually as an extra process only after such a tie occurs.
