Anyway let's see if they do the same in upcoming matches

Just like Jadeja, Maxi too should be treated as a bowler atleast this season.

They are doing better with the ball than the bat.

I think they r focussing on right hand left hand.

Mostly MSD prefer this type combo..

Two phases of flourish and CSK have a total to fight with. They score 34 at the death but the Jadeja-Dube partnership really set them up to get there. Numbers say they added 79 off 50. But if you watched it, they struggled to time the ball for a large part of that partnership. They truly stepped on the pedal after the 11th over, the four overs since getting CSK 60. Once Dube fell after fifty, CSK once again lost fizz. Jadeja completed his fifty later but there wasn't much of a flourish towards the end.

CSK batters' lack of form manifested in the way they started the innings. It was evident that the ball was coming nicely onto the bat, yet it took the visiting side 18 balls to find the first boundary. Some of it was due to the nimbleness MI fielders exhibited, but most of it due to the cautious approach that the CSK batters adopted. In the first 11 overs, only one boundary came off the bat of a player not named Ayush Mhatre.

For 1 sec i thought you typed this.

Hardik's shuffling of his bowlers will sure get people talking tonight, depending on how this goes for MI hereon. He delayed getting Bumrah into the attack, then gave one-over spells for himself, Boult and Bumrah in the middle. Bowled Ashwani for an over just before the death that went for 24. Will any of those moves come back to haunt MI? Or will their batters hunt this down - remember Rohit Sharma is expected to be the Impact Player - and inflict more misery on CSK? He needn't look beyond what teenaged debutant Mhatre did for CSK to adapt a style of play on this surface.

Virs: "Looks like Mumbai underused their spinners and Chennai have a bunch of them. That could be the difference. "

Maxi was doing better in bowling in IPL 2024 also even though was worst with batting

In this season he is decent with bowling

Batting not good but at least scored something
