For god sake he is a doctor not some cheap gangster. This scene wasnt necessary today imo.

Absolutely! She isn't regretting it now and won't be as well in the near future because she can't see past herself. She is undoubtedly thinking about herself right now, but she is good at heart as well, just like Neil. That's what struck Neil about her voice. He, as a passionate lover of music, could feel the goodness in her voice and it touched him. He calls her Aparajita, because Aparajita flowers are considered to have healing and transforming properties. She healed his past wounds of his desires getting rejected. I am sure she would regret hurting him once she starts developing a soft corner for him. Later se mera matlab tha bahut later. 
@Bold: I do not totally agree. I am not denying that she has been been rude to him most of the times but not always. Remember, when he offered to drop her to the Nagpur bus stand and later, Amravati? She felt sorry for her previous behaviour and thanked him, although it was for a fleeting moment since she again started taunting him at Konkan. But we have already had a glimpse of her gratitude and soft corner for him when he saves her from the tiger and also treats Mohit at Konkan. She apologised properly, thanked him profusely and even flirted with him :), inviting him to her house. She even thought highly of him when he enquired about Mohit's health and assured to meet her as soon as he got to know about his demise. Moreover, he was the only one she confided in at the temple when he took them to complete Mohit's post-death rituals, not even in her mother, and tells only him about her dreams.
She starts despising him again only after Mukta tells her about Neil's proposal because she misunderstands that Neil is taking advantage of a girl whose father just passed away and hence, does not have a male figure in her life. This is the point where she thinks he is like other predatory men. So she does have a better, kind side of hers. The selfish behaviour, though totally uncalled for, is not her core characteristic. She is probably one of those people who take time to realise the worth of the things they don't know are actually dearest to them.
And her anger is directed towards her helplessness in the whole situation as no one listened to her (note that she keeps repeating this; 'meri toh kisine suni nahi', 'ladkiyon ki kaun sunta hai': all this indicates that she feels helpless), not even the God she prayed to when she was about to go and file the documents for her M. A. Final Exams. She eventually did but that was only after a struggle she undertook herself, when the game was completely against her. No one helped her in that situation, not even her ever-helping Neil who in turn was unintentionally the cause of her distress.
Disrespect isn't justified, and both Neil and Tejaswini are victims of their own unfair circumstances and the decisions they made in them. Both deserve empathy and I hope they try to be in each other's shoes to understand their respective perspectives. Because only that will prove to be the first step and cornerstone in building their relationship for life.
I love how he never misses a chance to take a stand for his wife.
Neil and Tejaswini obviously look good together in the rituals, with her looking flustered and Neil being all shy and smiley. He does understand women, and did not hesitate to declare his affections. The highlight for me was the Neil-Rutu exchange. Dr. Pradhan seems to have an B. A. LLB as well, along with his M. D. in Gynaecology. 
Good to go if it's true.
