I think Nashwa is like any other good person. She's not a comic super hero. Yes, she made lots of idealistic comments and had views (just like we do because she's right - humare as pas Jo hota hai woh hume impact karti hai. We're responsible if we witness or hear) and even when she was vulnerable she took a stand for Mahi and did her best. As an intern she's notdo a lot with a case. She chose her mom over Burhan and unfortunately never made any promises to him though there was a silent understanding and now that she's in a place that is not what she dreamt of, she's doing her best to make it better for herself by doing things she feels is right for her or will help her survive in the long run in that house. She thinks of that place as her home.
I do not know many people in real life whose families are threatened with death or disappearance or assault by mafias or government or corporations or powerful people and woh dar na Jaye lol. Insan apne liya sab bardash hota karta hai, lekin apne Bhai behen ma baap aur bacho k liye nahi. People judging her so harshly don't have families or what? Yes, there are a few people who will do the brave thing inspite of everything but there is no guarantee of winning. It is just making sure to do the right thing inspite of the result. Also, good people are not saints or angels. They make mistakes and take steps back and get scared. It is okay.
All the previliged people need to consider that Nashwa has no father to back her up and a very weak mother growing up and it had an impact
Why didn't Burhan file the case and have Ammar arrested by the wedding since he is a big barrister and already has dirt on dad and son? Why is he being shown as a whiny lover boy. Also, why is there this expectation from Burhan as well. He did what he could and will still support Nashwa. He is letting her go through a situation for now as she's not really letting him in and also she has already explained her position and excused herself. Sometimes things happen.
Both of them cannot be perfect all the time
Maybe the problem is some of Nashwa's dialogues? I guess she's doing what she can at this point. She knows.
Maybe QEJ is not as much a social commentary as much as it is just a story of a family with complex yet familiar characters with a hint of a thriller. We see them. It is definitely not a romance. The characters are human and maybe grey and make decisions that make sense to them at that moment.
Also the director shared some stuff and the guy playing Asad had these to say. It's clear that they're annoyed by people.

People are like Mein ne aesa socha tha to aisa hi hoga warna drama hi kharab. I'm like Kiya? How? Even I was sure Ammar would fall and die because of the picture that Taya holds and cries but now I see that it was a twist. I cannot just make things up now even if I do not like something. I can always disagree with the writer and often fans do come up with much better solutions. Sometimes writers do total injustice. But in this case one must wait a little more to pass a final judgement because I feel after next week some people will feel silly.
Also, as an audience you were shown certain things in certain ways and the director hoped you'd be intelligent enough to decipher things or at least enjoy the ride till the reveal. Wasey bhi before the drama started Nameer as a newbie spoiled it in his hum IV! Ab director ki Kiya ghalati hai k tum things ko pick nahi Kar pa rahe ho as an audience. I'm sorry lekin hints bohot mili hai. Koi kano mein ungli ghusai aur ankhe band karle to woh kiya Kar sakte hai.
