Stat: This is GTās second biggest win while chasing - in terms of wickets remaining - after their 9-wicket win with 37 balls to spare against RR in Jaipur in 2023. All six matches between these two sides have been won by the chasing team - three each for both.Originally posted by: SoniRita

RCB always had home disadvantage
I kinda knew it
Atleast 30-50 runs ke small margin se nahi haare
Everything aside
No one is talking about the shit performance of Pant from bat but Dhoni who is retired uske peeche pade hain.
&
Buttler is no one my fav players but he was doing such a horrible Wking today, I know he is not a regular Wk but still.

People have audacity to comment against almost 44 yrs old Dhoni who already retired from International Cricket 5 yrs back.
If you ever need to show how a team needs to adapt at away venues in the IPL then this game should be the template. Gujarat Titans were excellent in assessing the conditions. The new ball was the most difficult phase to bat and the openers - Gill and Sudharsan - took minimal risk. The first wicket came in the 5th over but after the Titans had gotten off to a steady start. After that the pair of Sudharsan and Buttler kept the asking rate in check as they picked up a boundary in every over after the powerplay. Hazlewood was brought back and he broke the 75-run stand but that was the only stutter in the chase as Buttler and Rutherford cruised towards the target. RCB were well short with the bat and it didn't help that their bowlers could not keep the pressure in the middle overs. First home game for them and a first defeat as well. Stick around for the interviews..
When Buttler gets going, there is not much teams can do, and RCB found that out the hard way tonight. 170 was not a hugely daunting total, but it was enough to keep GT honest. GT, though, learnt from the RCB innings and ensured no early wickets were lost. Gill and Sudharsan were content to bide their time at the start, which laid the foundation for Buttler to then weave his magic.
Take nothing away from Sudharsan either, who kept things ticking really nicely and is becoming a fine performer at the top for the Titans. Rutherford will also not mind tonight's outing, having struck the final blow and having found the fence whenever required. In continuation of that theme, RCB struggled to pick up wickets when they needed to. The powerplay yielded just one scalp, and it went downhill rather swiftly after that, with their lack of penetration through the middle coming to the fore.
Rcb was beaten in all departments today GT played well.
Cheer up RCB fans, theyāll bounce back from this defeat and win the next match!
