Indian fans might not even understand the concept, especially since sci-fi has never really worked jn Bollywood. They’d just slap a women-centric box office flop label on it and move on. Just give them some mediocre propaganda movie based on made-up events, and they are happy.

Part of the meta-commentary of The Substance was casting a popcorn actress who was not allowed to be taken seriously and then aged out of those roles, leaving her out in the cold. I think someone like Sushmita Sen would be the right pick for that.

Hmmm but I don’t think Sushmita was ever a top actress though? Whereas Demi Moore was a huge star in the 90s
