Meenakshi’s Wrath and Arunasur’s Fate

Meenakshi, deep in penance, recalls her past and opens her eyes in fury at Arunasur. She accuses him of betraying her love and dishonoring her parents, vowing revenge by destroying him and his clan. Ignoring pleas for restraint, she unleashes her wrath. Lord Shiv declares this end is necessary, while devotees protest, but Meenakshi insists it is just. She decrees that no one from the Asur clan will be born again.

In Kailash, Lord Narayan explains that Goddess Parvati took the Meenakshi avatar to end the Asura clan. Goddess Saraswati and Nandi acknowledge the immense sacrifices made by Shiv Shakti for the universe’s well-being.

Meenakshi then frees the Devtas, who greet her in gratitude. Arunasur, terrified, reminds her of his boon—no one can kill him. He claims that if someone meets his gaze, they become his slave. Meenakshi counters, revealing that his boon does not apply to her, as their bond is that of father and daughter. She then exposes the loophole in his second boon, which states that two- and four-legged beings cannot kill him. Transforming into a six-legged ant, she shocks Arunasur.

Desperate, Arunasur pleads for mercy, vowing to follow the path of truth. Meenakshi tells him that sins deserve punishment but offers him a chance at redemption. She tasks him with having five women tie Rakhi on his hand within an hour. If he succeeds, she will forgive him. Confident, Arunasur accepts the challenge. Meanwhile, Lord Shiv declares that Arunasur’s punishment is imminent.
