First of all, we have moved on from these episodic stories. Thanks to COVID, OTT and more exposure to higher quality content, our standards have risen. CID makers and Sony can't think the old format will work just on nostalgia alone. You have some great actors. Write a solid thriller of 8 episodes and do it as an OTT format. People will wait for the next season like they do for a Family Man or Panchayat.

Second, the story is the hero. You can't stitch together some half hearted scenes filled with the darwaza or kuch toh gadbad dialogues and expect people to jump like before. Those days - pre 2009, the stories were much better.

CID is a huge brand. Use it to make something worth watching. I have very nice memories of CID from 1998. I still watch the old ones - the pre 2007 ones on youtube when they show up on my feed and some of them still make me smile. The new season is a pale shadow of the old series. Sorry.

Welcome back to the forum

Each to his or her own opinion, but you don’t really have to apologize. Can you tell us which episode of the new season you watched?

I watched that episode where that new lady cop's friend fakes her daughter getting kidnapped and there is supposed to be a twin who doesn't exist and all that.

Whoa! Hey Visrom di! How are you?

Not sure if you'll remember me, I'm Shruti. 😆

Agreed with everything you've said. The popularity of the show and its characters, the hype generated by initial promos, and nostalgia factor could fetch good opening numbers but ultimately it's the story that makes viewers stay.
