not everyone wants the same things from life - that what makes people unique interesting. I'm going to be philosophical here.
People give up successful careers to do mundane things. You have one life. Do what you want to - rather than what makes sense to the world. They are showing J as happy for now in Guj. Lifting Gobar, milking cows, arguing with BAA, she is feeling happier than she did in BH.
Per another's definition maybe she should get a career, avenge her parents, live independently. Why should she? Those are the worldy definitions of the right thing to do. J has always been low ambition, once in a while she will get motivated to do something big and will enjoy it, but it never drove her. Neither success nor revenge has been her thing. I dont need all women leads to be Anjali Awasthi or some driven achiever.
She is ok to give up and move on. We can bash her, but its not her problem. Only we will get hyper. She is ok for now. Like she says its her marzi, give her agency for doing what she wants with her life. She wants peace and quiet now. She is ok with risking her reputation with Vihaan, these are choices she has made. But she is seeming happy with her choices. Its not like she is looking to get out of Guj household. Dont push your idea of what makes a woman right and heroic and inspiring on her, when she is not wanting it.
She likes teaching dance to the kids. She is smiling, happy. She would rather fight for another than herself. If she is miserable and not doing anything its something to think abt. She clearly told Ani - its her choice. Respect it. She is not forcing Ani like Arshi or forcing anyone else. Ani after choosing Arshi's zimmedhari over J, now wants to keep coming to Vihaan's house - for what? Love for Ahaan, Baa? Now God will write his story - after he allowed her to go to Mumbai on her own and be kidnapped, after he chose to babysit Arshi over saving J's life?
Ani's choice - wants to keep and eat his cake. Wants zimmedhari and love. If J encouraged him - I would be upset. He on the other hand married Arshi and is shamelessly still open to meeting with J to see what can transpire. There are more things to bash here. If Ani had stood up for J at all the times he had choices to make, I would have some respect for him. He chooses Arshi and still cannot give up J, even when it's not her choice for him to do so. In my mind, that makes him a person who disregards another's choice and imposes his will, thats not love, thats a need to possess and own. What big thing is he achieving - babysitting, nursing, being bechaar of his own making. Lalon had to come to correct his house. How inspiring is he being? - a man unable to think through his priorities and messing everyones lives. The way he was admiring Lalon - Ani could not even think of correcting his toxic house. Thats a messed up man - who marries out of family pressure a woman he knows he does not love and does performance and then hurts the one he loves because she does not give in to his expectations of staying with him. Why is he so dependent on J that he is desperate for her. Why cant he be a strong ML and stay with his zimmedhari, not lie to her, run behind another woman. Even to Arshi he is not being honest and true. He is wearing J's ring. Neither here nor there he is.
This story is about 2 extremely different personalities, not epitomes of society in any way, neither is inspirational and there is no arc for anyone - least of all Ani or J. Neither has reflected on their actions and done anything to change. Both have 'per world view' digressed from their original self.
Pointing out hypocrisy and things that dont tally is ok for me. I dont have a problem with them doing insignificant uninspiring things as long as they get happiness. Success money revenge all is for a feeling of peace and happiness. If J is getting that with tabela work - let her. She wont get happiness with what someone else thinks is happiness.
Sorry went into a bit of a rant. lol. The story is no doubt illogical, but I dont get the J bashing for doing what she chooses to do. Its her life her choice she is happy.
