Exactly !!! It’s totally not unrealistic that she listened to her mother’s advice- her dad has passed away, she has a single parent left. She listened to her mum when she did not have good ideas about Bilal, listened to her when she insisted on marrying Ammar - why wouldn’t she listen now ?

Remember when she told her tumhare abba nehi chahte the ke tum uske waha jao,her reaction of breaking glass knowing she brought 8cr from him because she was sure he must have made her sleep with him for,her convincing farzana that Bilal is not kind of man who buys people's majboori, her telling Sadaf that ab toh mujhe tumse dar lagne laga hai because Sadaf won't stop gushing about Bilal toh her? Then in one night her Perspective for Bilal changed and she is telling her tumhara hath bhi Maang sakta hai.Yeh Kab hua Aunty?

I agree with this..more than Wahaj,Maya and Haseeb have been more bashed..

Ulta,People have sympathized with Wahaj for doing this kind of drama..but the brunt has been faced mostly by Maya and other actors/Haseeb. SMD still getting views despite of such a complex messed up storyline only because of Wahaj, speaks about his stardom..so next project is already there for him.

This is not how it works anywhere else. Typically the pilot of a show is reviewed and it can be brutally criticized, praised or a bit of both. That’s usually the extent of what critics do. Some may continue talking about popular shows and can continue reviewing them…usually it will be something that has some hook to them and not one that they have completely panned. Those are just ignored. Personal bloggers may review shows that they like or hate and I can compare that to Aamna and Hassan (not to the extent that even they get into it). Industry colleagues do not sit week after week discussing any shows let alone one they don’t find has any redeeming qualities to it. It’s a weird concept anywhere else.

It is All about the engagement.A huge FD is against this show because of Maya being casted opposite Wahaj and whenever there are some negative reviews about SMD they give the show views, engagement and encouragement. And that is why the reviewers keep roasting it week after week because SMD gives them the engagement

My point was about audience trust and social capital and that even superstars (much much bigger than Wahaj) are not immune to it.

Wahaj still has more pull with Indian audiences, but in Pakistan, his pull is diluted. I have #s to back it up. An actor's decline is not a binary state. After TB, Wahaj was being touted as the next Fawad, After Mein, he got relegated to Feroze, Danish level. After SMD, he is no longer in Bilal, Feroze and Danish category. To go from next Fawad to this in 1.5 years is a downgrade, whether you accept it or not. Another project like SMD, and he will be another Imran Ashraf. 2-3 more projects of this ilk, he is another Imran Abbas. Wahaj can still bounce back (though he could never go back the next Fawad lustre - that shine is off). But no one gets infinite chances. Especially right now, the field is very competitive.

I get your point of those superstars not being immune but I strongly feel that it’s because they are aging, this phase was inevitable. It may come to some of them faster than the others but they are an aging group and if it isn’t today, it will be tomorrow.

I’m sure you have all the stats and I’m sure it proves his brand value has declined and I’m not denying that. TBH, I predicted that right after TB ended. That fame is tough to sustain and I expected a decline. Of course this project is probably declining it is more than expected. Things are up and down for every celebrity and no amount of stats can solidly predict the direction they are headed in. Again, I had never heard of Imran Ashraf or Imran Ashraf. I watched Aye Dil hai Mushkil and had no idea Imran Abbas had a small role in that…I just learned that recently. I knew exactly who Fawad Khan was. Wahaj has the advantage of being recognized internationally. A great project, and people will forget the rest or repeated terrible projects and people will eventually forget him. Let’s wait and see. He’s a big boy, he’ll figure it

Since Fawad Khan is being mentioned , he also delivered two back to back disasters after Humsafar. May be Mein and SMD are Wahaj's Ashk and Numm smiley36

Industry people reviewing is an anomaly, and i haven't seen it anywhere,

I didn't tune into ptv reviews until covid. before that, i was avid consumer of reviews of US tv shows (mostly sci-fi, fantasy, comic books). My most visited site was the AV club but I also kept abreast with multiple review channels on YT (portals + individuals). Reviewers ripping a show apart every week is very common in that context, though it would be more of rant than a roast. More recently, Ashoka, LOTR, Boba Fett would get ripped week after week by big or small review channels on YT. Of course these series do not have 40 episodes, but these shows would get ripped every week. But rants are more common than roasts in US tv review context. I haven't seen many roasts.

Maya has been through massive harassment and bullying since she has signed the show.Even before the show aired, everywhere age shaming, body shaming and sl*tshaming were going on under evert SMD related posts and since Sadaf has rejected Bilal general people have also joined the hate train. How dare she reject our pure and precious drunkard womanizer.Anyway problem is how in every platform some misogynistic shippers want to blame Maya for his decision to do this show.Like he saw how small his role is or how many days he shot for it,but it somehow Maya and Haseeb's fault? He didn't mind promoting it as much as he can with the shipper fd on his back when the views were coming and people were still hoping for SADAF BILAL marriage or romance.Usama also did this drama of deleting all SMD posts after he started getting praise for QEZ.But Maya hasn't.

JBG was a very underrated show, but their performances got rave reviews and everyone who watched it Loved Somi.
