heard it on KDH last week that Obi and Talha were offered Ammar's part but they turned it down.
Maybe according to the story but marketability wise, Wahaj is lead. It goes by who is able to sell the project more. It’s how billing works in Hollywood. Someone who receives first billing, name mentioned first, isn’t necessarily the one with the most screen time but the one that has earned that spot up until that point. It’s based on marketability of the star. Usama just isn’t where Wahaj is. I get it, Ghair is bringing in better tv ratings but I guarantee it isn’t because of Usama…it’s something engaging in the story. In SMD’s case, the story, the pace, almost everything about the project is deterring viewers…the biggest and quite possibly only factor bringing in views is Wahaj. It might not be as impressive as it could have been but for now it is the major factor for bringing in whatever views that they are getting. It’s why he is being used so heavily to market the project. Replace him with almost anyone else and I doubt they would get any views. Now Wahaj’s pull may decrease going forward because people might lose trust in upcoming projects…is his name just being used or does he actually have significant screen time? Yeah it’s all a bit misleading and we aren’t wrong to expect more screen time for a show running in Wahaj’s name but it happens especially in shows (more than movies).Originally posted by: hypnotoad
Usama is a parallel lead with Wahaj. Not a 2nd lead. Maya's cktr is the central/main lead.
I just don’t understand how the makers couldn’t foresee this. The show has an excruciatingly slow pace (not later after the show picked up momentum but from the get go ) and not only are the leads not playing a couple but they don’t have many scenes together. These elements don’t exactly make a hit. The only thing they had going for it was people’s investment in Wahaj’s character and they limited that too. This isn’t like Mein where Wahaj was completely sidelined but the other characters were engaging to watch there. I still think BA is better character than Zaid and that might be part of the problem..people like him and want to see more of him but they don’t really like or connect to the rest of the characters.
I understand some things are hit and miss and you don’t know until it airs but things were obvious here. There’s no way they couldn’t see it. Maybe the actors thought it moved at a quicker pace but those who saw the finished product couldn’t tell that it was painstakingly slow?
If we have to compare SMD and Mein with 25 episodes gone , in which show did Wahaj get more screen time ?
I wish it had ahad in that pic BTW I never liked Hamza-maya pairing it was a borefest

Yeah I have watched mann mayal..lot of people liked the chemistry but I didn't like them that much. ...may be because I was too biased towards sherry-maya pairing
