I think they are working with a really bad script and screenplay which seems to be adding stuff as they go.

This kind of lovestory needs passion and they have just sucked all the passion out of Shahnawaz at this point.

Exactly! You described what I was feeling. It also doesn't help that they have the worst OST in history which adds nothing to the drama mood. What on earth is that awful ishq rowa sound at all times -- it is not romantic or angsty but just annoying. 😑

Haha, I do like the OST, though. Yeah, I wish they switched to the instrumental versions more often. I see this story as a Wuthering Heights kind of love story, but going the route of Shahnawaz acting like a stuffed-up choirboy virgin after marriage was a choice nonetheless, which does not sell a passionate, angsty love story.

100% ASA was well-written and better executed. I think what I am missing here is the look -- if you know what I mean where a guy looks at a girl and we are all swooning over that gaze. That is the hallmark of desi TV and that is missing for me. Ali does not know quite how to execute that. Instead, many of his actions don't sell that he is a grown up adult with some plan. His eyes aren't calculative enough. It is also possible that Ali has no idea what the character as Shaw is even thinking but basically his expressions are not showing that complex look of confusion, calculation, manipulation, affection as well as attraction -- that was essentially what Iqtidar should have been. Then I would have tuning in and posting all sorts of comments. Right now, the drama is selling itself on chemistry and it is ok enough watch for me. I am pretty sure that I will forget the drama after a week or two when it finishes. 😂😂

I like Ali's romantic gazes way better than usama's. It's not his fault if the scenes are fully Wattpad coded. He was really good in the last episode when they were having their midnight chai. The gaze and the way he asks apne chai banana kise seeki were all very romantic and well acted by him. They both were good with the sexual tension when she was stitching the buttons. The attraction and sexual tension is more between these two than in asa.

Ali himself admitted in his IV that he don't know what's going on with shahnawaz and why he is leading on Amal. So it's totally understandable why he don't have that calculative or manipulative looks. When the actor himself don't know where it's going how will he bring out the right emotions.

That ost is actually a big hit. I have mixed opinion about it. Like some parts but not other parts. But the lyrics does go with the drama. The lyrics are all about toxic love with betrayal and heartache. That's exactly what's happening between shanno and mehru

I don't mind if he was stuffed up choirboy if he knew how to give those hard pouty bully stares which would have us all swoon. Instead, he keeps swirling his ring and I keep thinking if he zoning himself off to sleep or something. smiley36 Where is the angst for us to tune in even when our brains tell us this story would never happen? We should feel that these characters are too stupid to live but we should still want them together! smiley37

To be fair between all the scenes of BeeJaan, Urooj, Chachi, Faiza and her useless hub, Amal, we are lucky to even get a few scenes of these two together. I am like why I am not getting monologues from Shahnawaz where he's like I want to be with you, be near you.

And I agree with spnfan, I don't think its really Ali's fault here, he is working with what he has been given. I mean from what angle does it make sense of him leading Amal on,neither Anmol or Ali could give an answer to that nor does the audience or reviewers. That means the script and direction here has majorly failed. His role in Dunyapur shows he can play intense roles but when you are a fairly new actor you are like clay in the hands of the director to be molded to new heights.

I feel they really made a bad choice of making Mehru tame after marriage, they should have had her plotting these people's destruction. I mean for god' sake its 2025 nearly. Women know how to give back as good as they get. Time our desitv understands this.

My thoughts exactly. The story-telling was weak since day 1 but we lapped it out because of the fireworks of the leads. But post-wedding the writer has fizzled it out in favour of soapy story where a third angle(Amal) is forcefully introduced for which they have altered the ML's graph where he hasn't realised his feelings for her but pre-wedding he was so sure that he loved her that he went behind his mother's back and prolonged his beloved brother's time in jail. If he wasn't sure that he loved her why would he complicate his brother's case?

Secondly, he went through so much trouble to have her in his life. Yet, in spite of knowing that his mother will throw her out someday and she may leave him once Zain is out, he is just wasting his time day-dreaming about Mehru and leading Amal on. They are creating unnecessary suspense about Shanno's next move, which is undermining his commitment towards Mehru. Even in his Amal scenes, if they had shown a monologue where he's saying he's pretending for his mother, it would have made sense. Also the fact that the whole house(including Amal with whom he was happily chatting away) knows about Zain's return while Mehru is completely clueless, shows how inconsiderate he is towards her. So he may day-dream and fantasise about Mehru as much as he likes, his actions are not that of a man in love. And frankly, he has no redeeming quality and Mehru shouldn't love him just because they're married. She should divorce him for herself.

In comparison to this, Khaani was always Mir Hadi's first priority. His actions were wrong and criminal no doubt. But there was no questioning of his love and commitment towards Khaani. But here, nobody's sure of Shanno's love and commitment towards Mehru. We didn't even get to see his longing and passion because he literally got Mehru on a silver platter. So that best thing for the story will be that she leaves him and he earns back her love.

The best plot twist and winding up of Sadia's character would be if she dies and before dying she asks Mehru of 2 things

1) she'll not reopen zeeshan's case

2) she'll leave shanno and start a new life with muskan in a new city away from all these toxic people

This way Mehru will have some peace and we'll finally get to see shanno long for her
