Kapil Sharma subtly insults Atlee's looks

The latest and final episode of Netflix's The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show featured the team of Baby John, including producer Atlee, actors Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and director Kalees. A joke made by the popular comedian and host, however, did not sit well with a section of the internet. Some netizens have claimed that Kapil mocked Jawan fame Atlee's appearance on the show.

Not subtle at all. But hardly surprising. Amazed that the others laughed along. Why is being spoken to in Hindi ? Oh wait, Kapil cannot string a san-tunz together in English.

It's a long time I've stopped to watch this show (and its host)...

I just wonder why are people still amazed about the skin colour even after knowing that it's the lack of a very important pigment called melanin and it's infact protective.. actually dark skinned people should mock the whites for not having what's essential...

But anyways,it's not just Kapil Sharma show,still body shaming jokes are popular in India as well as abroad..

People will be mocked for their skin color is so ingrained in brains....that if a person is dark skinned..we assume that the comment was for the skin color....

First of all Atlee is not an actor......but a director.....skin color se uska kya lena dena.......I think because Atlee is just a big director and looks so young........that is what Kapil meant.....and it was meant as a compliment......that big achievement at such a young age...is difficult to believe....

Kapil is not a fool ....that he will mock a dark skinned man for his color on Natl. TV.....itni toh akal hai uss mein....

But I can't blame people for assuming that Atlee was blamed for his dark skin....because it is a fact........Suhana ko kitna mock kiya jataa hai......but I don't think Kapil did it mock Atlee's skin color.....but it was a compliment for his age...

Atlee also took it a wrong way.....probably because he must have been mocked a million times......the only thing is that.....as soon as Atlee said that people should not look at the face........Kapil should have cleared it ....that he meant age and not physical appearance.....

Why I am saying this......because when I heard Kapil's question....I thought it was about Atlee's age.....

I agree. He said 'aap itne young hain'. I don't think he was talking about looks at all. I don't think he would dare to. He seemed to have meant 'how do senior people in the industry take you seriously'.

Not defending Kapil here, he says a lot of infuriating stuff he needs to be called out for, but this one seemed more lost in translation.

Atlee said 'In a way I understood your question', he must be used to mean comments online, so he interpreted it that way. Sadly social media has done a number on every public figure, coz people don't hold back. They are vile and obnoxious.

Yes Kapil was rude and nasty and that's what his show hayd always been about. I have never liked it so don't watch it. But his belittling and derisive content is well known and I guess Atlee knew this and was prepared for it. Kapil won't just ask this out of the blue. It's all rehearsed.
