as it was written smd is not a romance or love story. its a drama about prejudice and perceptions and different types of love. both humsha and bilal are in one-sided love - ek toxic one-sided hai ek selfless. ammar and bilal is another study on contrasting love - ek hasil karne wala pyar jo possessive hai or doosra submissive subservient sirf giving wala pyaar. in ke beech mai focal point sadaf hai who goes on a life journey that teaches her to finally understand and recognize love. these 4 are all protagonists in the writing.

I totally agree with you...I have the same understanding about the story...that's what I have been saying that on the paper its not a bad story but the execution by Haseeb and dragging by 7th sky was a big let down...each and every episode is frustrating and painful to watch tbh..!!

I watching Sadqay Tumhare recently and KRQ can certainly write romance. Haseeb too proved himself with Diyar e Dil, Mann Mayal or even the most recent Alif. Dunno what happened in SMD ??

No I agree some interaction would have elevated the show. Like I mentioned, all the recent shows that went on to become huge had one thing in common….lots of interaction with the leads. I feel it’s needed nowadays for the overall success of the show.

Personally I’m ok waiting for it because until last week, I felt like their story just started. Bilal keeping a proper distance from Sadaf was needed for the storyline. He wasn’t even trying to pursue her at that point. It was only when he spent time with her brother and he would kind of tease him about Sadaf ,and then the mom would tell him that Sadaf has put her full trust in him that Bilal felt he actually stood chance. He wanted to do things right and went straight for a marriage proposal…not an unlikely scenario for Pakistanis. I liked this aspect of it because the whole point was to prove that Bilal Abdullah never took advantage of any situation. I know this isn’t what the audience wants to see so I acknowledge that most people won’t be as patient as me waiting for these scenes. For me personally this could still be a great story but the Sadaf Ammar romance kind of killed it for me but who knows maybe I’ll get over it as the episodes proceed. I’m ok with lack of romance between Bilal and Sadaf for now, but that doesn’t mean I want to see some weird romance between Ammar and Sadaf.

There’s no scenes for romance so far. I did like the daydream sequence even if it was imagined. They looked so pretty in that 😍

Because this drama was not written to be a romance. it is a philosophical meditation on types of love, how it makes people behave, and the difficulties in identifying true love from these different types. Marketing main kuch bhi likh dene se or imagination shots daalne or filler scenes se koi script romance/love story nahi ban jata if it is not written as one. isse zyada proper romance or lovestory toh duniyapur mai hai which is an action/revenge drama. even mann jogi a social cause drama on halala showed such beautiful progression of love and relationship - how it develops and builds and shapes you as a person.

At the current rate I have a feeling we would get romance between Humsha and Faraz before Bilal and Sadaf.

@bold I totally agree with this...and I found this the most beautiful aspect of Bilal Abdullah's character..but I am having problem with the character arcs and slow progression...everything is just stuck at one point..and one fine day everyone will realize...and sadaf bilal will have 2-4 episodes of romance and the show will be over..

Also I was interested in Bilal's back story to be unfolded in a more detailed way but there are no such signs.smiley18

Yeah I’m more interested in Bilal’s story but we get these lunatics instead.

I find that part of Bilal Abdullah beautiful too. Maybe there is too much focus on other stories in between so it gets kind do overlooked.

I found that part in Bilal Abdullah's character beautiful because in today's world people think that chasing someone means you are loving that person but the true meaning of love is actually letting go..

Also a person like Bilal Abdullah who had relationship with girls,if he wanted to befriend or chase Sadaf..it would have looked like she is his zidd or another challenge and not someone whom he would like to marry and settle down with.
