You are spot on. That's what I was hinting at. Anyways, Sharad is actually lucky, he became a part of BT much later, after 10-12 years since he started his career in 2004-2006. Aly Goni is a surprise entry for me but he also did YHM for 6 years and that rolled into his BB fame which further enhanced his brand value.
2000s era on TV was totally dominated by BT. They had all the big budget shows so naturally they pay highest amount to their artists. 2010 onwards, BT had a tough time till Jodha Akbar & YHM came to rescue. But even in that 3 year period (2010-13), they did big budget projects with hefty payments to the artists . Few other production houses did catch up too in the meantime but not enough. Still today, only 5-6 production houses can truly afford such payments and BT is still way ahead. Managing a high budget daily serial is a very risky business, the options for recovering losses are very limited if shuts shop early. With movies, producers no longer depend on ticket only, there are various kinds of digital and internet rights which minimize the loss significantly. Unfortunately , TV shows don't have that safety cushions.
