As a member wrote when the thread was started, it's not really about Shraddha but the respective channel did this kind of 'opinion research' just at the time of Shraddha's 'shooting to fame' (certainly for a reason).
I can't undertand everything Abhishek says but it seems to me that he rightly criticises if film-producers employ someone as an actor/actress based on the number of followers instead of acting skills. Trying to attract more audience by employing non-actors/-actresses may not only dilute the quality of the work but also takes away the chance to get employed for professional actors/actresses.
I think, that always had been done by film-producers only that before social media and even before Internet, it had been the modelling job and the success in fashion magazines and on the ramp that became a reason to make an actor/actress out of a model. Not only the Hindi filmindustry wanted actresses as eye-candy to attract audiences...
