I won't say Maya is reason for smd failure. If everything else is good, only her acting is bad then we can say she is the reason. But that's not the case.

I think your mistaken KRQ never allows his dramas to be extended and he always writes under 30 eps. He had problems with Geo and said he’d never work for the ph again. So what makes you think it’ll be a one off project that’s 40-50 eps? The longer the drama the more likely it gets written off as a classic. It’s their signature project they won’t drag it unnecessarily and if HS confirmed such a thing then we can clearly see who’s right. HS is doing another KRQ drama too so it’s best to trust him. I guess think what you like but I have a feeling it’ll be under 35 eps. Only when a drama is a massive hit does the PH drag it unnecessarily to cash in on the episodes.

I have seen the posts you are talking about. what people meant with "Non commercial project" was in terms of not using the common tropes of accidental marriage/haters to lovers/romantic comedy which are the common hit formula these days..they tried to keep the feel of old bollywood movies alive..some people may like it and some people may not like it..

"Non commercial drama" didn't mean DNUTN or Jo Bichad Gaye

I know that very well KRQ doesn't drag his dramas...but I dont even feel story is even half way for sure.

It's bizarre to compare TB with SMD....TB was an out an out masala romance. TB was not carried solely based on chemistry, it worked because of the way the two characters were written, the way the romantic scenes were written and directed apart from the chemistry...Enemies to lovers is a classic template...Like Iqtidar is in the similar space as TB..full on masala romance...Also, if shows were supposed to work based only on the chemistry of 2 actors without taking into consideration the genre & writing then then DNUTN would have been a blockbuster too!

I don't understand the comparision here with any drama

Have not watched DNUTN but even if that is not a good project will that give a poor project like SMD an excuse to be poor ?

Where is the logic ?

We all know Haseeb has given best shows in pak industry be it Alif or Jannat se Aagey or Mann Mayal..but we could see his below average direction..how he has used slow-mos and tried to drag the drama..so I suppose its going beyong 40 episodes..these days 40 epis+ is not a big thing in pak tv industry .

We are already at e14. Unless someone can bring in other examples, I can't think of projects doubling their TRPs so late in the game. Esp. if it's a show with a lot of audience awareness, Small shows with no names may hit big if word-of-mouth spreads, but not shows that everyone knows to exist. Also, once Bismil and/or TCM finishes, SMD may be competing against shows with big names and buzz, which would also affect the chances of TRP increasing.

You asked why your show is facing criticism when it's not finished yet. So I answered it's because your fav show's fans have this habit of dragging other non commercial shows to defend smd trps.

Any show dealing with dark/uncomfortable subject is non commercial drama. Any show promising love story with romantic posters is definitely a commercial drama.

If gentleman being a utter disaster is a hit for some then smd is also a hit for me.

SMD & DNUTN is not comparable the same way SMD & TB are not comparable....Precisely the point of the comment! Not to put down DNUTN but to emphasize how genre & writing makes a huge difference and not just the chemistry of two actors. I think the comment was pretty easy to comprehend!

Again, as per me, only that show which garners ratings & views is the one that truly connects with the audience...The ones which get ratings but not views & vice versa, can be debated if they are truly connecting with the audience or not, then it depends on the viewer, what they enjoy and what they don't!
