So as per these jn trps, smd is performing well in the current geo flop era, and that too on a dead slot of geo and having the high competition from bismil.

SMD is just plain boring and too dark. Maya and Wahaj look bimar and not attractive to many TRP aunties because of the fllters and lighting and some camera shots (I have heard this being said by irl people). The pace is just torture - even fans find it impossible to watch on tv and many watch on yt at 1.25x or 1.5x . The direction execution and editing is utter shit. The story is basic but its not out of the ordinary and easily executable. But not only the director failed to elevate the script he made it 10 times worse. Makers sold it as a love story but failed to develop any relationship between the leads, which will make people connect. It's all tell and no show when it comes to how BA fell in love, how he got over his distrust of women, how he became sober, any relationship dev b/w leads, yet we get looong pauses, ubalta doodh, toootta kaanch. People can handle toxic and regressive and low prod quality and bad acting - what people won't like is lack of entertainment.

Comparing Smd (which is promoted as eternal love story) to a show which dealt with dark tropics like prostitution, trafficking on a non famous channel is plain stupid.

Calling SMD non commercial project is another level of dumbness. Atleast defend with logic.

SMD is a half baked product ,which has bad writing ,bad direction and because of that not gr8 overall

Bringing other shows to defend it will not change the reality

SMD ki TRP in 5s and 6s is indefensible.

A Dil-e-Nadaan was getting similar TRPs as SMD against a bigger TRP show like KMKT. Beyhadh that aired before SMD in same slot with Affan and Madiha was getting similar TRPs as SMD against Bismil. A show with a low budget and no starcast and no promotions would have gotten same TRPs as SMD in this slot. But if a mega signature show with this big of a starcast, huge budget and high production values and big promotion still gets same TRP as a low budget shows without stars and no promotions, it's a failure. Right now, SMD is not even getting TRPs that JN would get and the YT views are way behind, so there's no comparison. Khumar got similar views as SMD but higher TRPs but we call it a dud for Feroze. ReJ got similar TRPs as SMD but much higher YT views yet we call that a dud for DT. (and neither were big budget mega projects). Same way SMD (until things drastically change) is a dud for Wahaj.

Also DNTUN is critically acclaimed and biggest proof that leads don't need to have scenes or even romance to show their chemistry. I bet SMD would have done better if there was another actress instead of Maya . She singlehandedly is bringing down the scenes with Wahaj.

I agree with every thing something haute said today about Sunn mere dil about story and direction (except for the making fun of English where she was repeating will you merry me because that is directors fault)

I won't say Maya is bad. Everything went wrong with the show and the fans should atleast accept it instead of defending it blindly. DNTUN is mainly women centric drama dealing with dark concept. It was telecasted on most unpopular channel.

The way some trying to prove SMD as non commercial project is utter stupid. Lots of romantic posters, teasers with romantic scenes, whole show revolving around mohabbat is not commercial but a show which mainly revolves around widow's struggles, oppression from relatives, woman fighting to become self dependent is commercial drama. Wow.
