But I just can’t wrap my head around (not that I should even try) why Leena would introduce Arshi’s pregnancy at this point. Pregnancies resulting in real babies often seemed like the final ML-FL focused arcs in her previous shows, after which either the ML was killed or the show ended.

- Is Arshi's pregnancy intended to put a temporary pin in Ani-Jhanak's relationship since they have acknowledged their love? If it is temporary (either fake pregnancy or miscarriage), how does Leena plan to keep Arshi relevant in the future?

- God forbid she plans to bring an actual child into the Jhanakverse—this would diverge from her previous storylines. Is she finally going to make the effort to write a new one instead of recycling old stories? There also seems like there is some unfinished business about Jhanak actually winning against Arshi in dance, which may seem pointless after the baby drama.

The basic purpose of anything Leena introduces is to keep Runak apart and increase episode count....so woh baseline lekar chalo when you try to view anything she shows.

This pregnancy track can give her a tool to increase episode count if she brings a fake pregnancy and uses that to create more conflict, build a new set of MUs that harden enough that even after pregnancy being revealed to be false, Runak would be damaged in some way to justify the next round of separation. Resolution doesn't seem to be her goal in anyway....lol she refuses to let Runak have mutual understanding about their equation and will always look for ways to sow doubt and confusion where one or the other feels slighted that the other doesn't love them or doesn't trust them.

Baaki yeah if she actually shows a child being born, then it will be a whole other direction for the show which seems doubtful for Leena's grand ambitions of achieving 500+ episodes ....if she wants to achieve 1000 epis, she would be better served giving a parallel plot to Arshi rather than forcing her onto the leads constantly.

This is why she resorts to weakening him from time to time so that she can run the plot per her typical ways otherwise if Ani was in his element, she wouldn't be able to.

So the question remaining is how much she is willing to take Ani to the brink in order to do her cheap plots or if she will ever have the guts to look past propping up the PL and these cheap FL-PL catfights which objectify the ML like a toy to be tossed around.

In fact I would say Krushal’s rendition of Ani is also the spanner in the works for Leena.. Krushal played Ani’s conflicted state so beautifully… i have no idea how the other ML was written or played but Krushal conveyed the vulnerability of his character to the T. Similarly , when Ani was ever doing things stealthily… it never once felt sleazy… Krushal brought about Ani’s earnestness to the scene that as a viewer you always empathised with him.
