Geet even after her ordeal when she spoke to Jessie's mother , she made it

perfectly clear that Maan is her destiny , her love and her life

at the same time bringing in more confidence into Maan

oh I just loved how Geet treated Maan's wound and wow he is so scared of an injection

but these small moments of them just them closer and make them understand

each other well

Part 20:

Maan who was sleeping felt a hand softly caressing his hair, a sweet aroma of coffee mixed with a known fragrance stirred him up, but recognizing who it was he didn't open his eyes but got lost himself in it. However, the person took back her hand when she felt him stirring in his sleep, that made Maan to open his eyes!!!

He looked at his wife who was standing just a few feet away from the bed

"Aap uttgai? I didn't intend to wake you up. I'm sorry."

Maan opened his mouth to say that it was ok and he was himself getting up anyway, when Geet continued

"Aab jab aap utt hi gai hai to, go and freshn up."

Maan obeyed and headed to the washroom.

When he returned, he saw one cup of coffee and another glass of light yellow coloured liquid in it, which made him frown. Neither the less he took his seat only to be served the glass to him and Geet taking her cup of coffee.

Maan made faces looking at it, which Geet noticed

"Arre, why are you making faces it's good for your health. Quick, finish it up"

"Geet, ye kya hai? I don't want this, please give me my coffee."

"Na na, no coffee or tea for you."

"Why? If you don't give then I will drink from your cup only." saying so Maan bend to take her cup while Geet moved back

"It's not good for your health, I'm not letting you drink it."

"What!! I have been drinking it all my life. All of a sudden it gets a label of not being good?

Maan scratches his head, it was then that it flashed that Geet was having the weary same coffee she labeled 'not good for health'

Then why are you drinking? I don't see a label 'I'm not good for Maan's health' written on the cup or on the coffee for that matter!!" Maan exclaimed only for Geet to giggle hearing him.

"Well I don't see anything you described

Geet said as she playfully examined her cup

And I don't even see it written on your glass Maan. So finish it up." she ordered him the last line

"And as off why I'm drinking if it's not good for health

She playfully tapped her fingers on her chin pretending to think

Haa, you see I don't think I was the one who was down by fever from morning out of pain, was I?" she asked pointedly looking at his bandaged palm because of which he was down by fever.

Early in the morning Geet had gotten up by a whimper beside her, she squirmed her dousy eyes open to see Maan shivering.

One look at him she knew that the pain had surfaced and he had caught fever because of it.

Geet slipped out and got Maan a painkiller and a paracetamol. Since it had not been more than 1-1 1/2 hour since they ate and slept she directly fed him the medicine, by waking him up.

And she sat the whole early morning tending to him by placing wet cloth on his forehead till his temperature came down.

Jessie's mother and Dr Khan left in the morning while Maan was fast asleep. Geet did what she could do to attend her guests and apologized that Maan wasn't doing well to be around.

Maan had woken up late in the morning, only to find Geet up by his side with a bundle of her questions. To which he answered quiet confused at being subjected to questions all of a sudden.

It was later when he got nice scoldings he realized that he was an interrogated by Dr Geet first then by his wife.

He made cute puppy face that stopped Geet as she instructed him to freshen up, after which she bandaged his hand and fed him later gave him painkiller.

After which he waa fast asleep again.

It waa evening by the time he woke up only to have a friendly tussel with his beloved wife. Who refused to serve him coffee.

So Maan had to finish up the wiered looking liquid in his glass for he was ordered by Geet. He thought it to be badam milk but to his dismay it was turmeric milk. He drank whole of it looking at Geet's eyes which kept widening in shock. That was something that she didn't expect but still was happy, her mother used to do it for her when ever she was ill and it used to work, and aren't home made remedies useful than the tables which cause side-effects.

This way, days started passing by and Maan had resumed working after a couple of days to the incident.

As Geet used to be alone after Maan left, the house started to haunt her. But she would always brace herself up to endure it for this was Maan, her husband's house which by default was her's as well. Their was another reason as well, that Maan had done so much for her that she couldn't come to confide her fears in him.

So to keep her mind off she started to let her mind wander outside the house or she would indulge herself in some activities. She actually forgot that she had a doctors degree and she could resume or restart her career.

But with Maan around her she used to be her usual chirpy self, they had started to bond well.

One evening Maan came home early, well he had a lunch meeting after which he was free. So he headed back home to spend time with his wife. He wanted to surprise her, for Geet complained about him returning late from office. He entered sneekly into his own house and searched for Geet, whom he as usual found her in the kitchen busy. Since he had removed his shoes and Geet being in her own world didn't notice Maan who was behind her.

He in a giffy grabbed her by her waist and twirled her. A first startled Geet screamed in fear and horror, hearing which Maan had to place her down. Geet fearfully looked at him and one look at her eyes he knew that she was just not startled.

Seeing that it was non other than Maan, she sighed in relief and immediately masked her expressions.

That was the incident when Maan actually got a glimpse of what was actually happening. Though Jessie had gone from their lives the fear had not. Geet was doing all she could to help him not remember why she herself was withdrawn into a shell.

That vary evening he dialed someone's number

"Hello!!"

"Hello, good evening Sir."

"Aur kitne time lagegi?"

"One and a half two months Sir.."

"One and a half two months!! Don't you think you are taking a lot of time?"

"Sir?

The man asked confused as well as surprised. He never got a call regarding this matter from his boss for Maan wanted everything perfect and had given them enough amount of time to complete. Which they were doing.

I mean it needs time sir. Aur waise bi it's getting completed two weeks before the given due date."

"Yash, I don't want excuses. I want it done as soon as possible."

"Ji Sir. I will look into it."

"Aur ha, I will be visiting the site tomorrow."

"Ji sir, I will make the necessary arrangements."

"Hmm"

Geet who had came to call Maan for dinner, had heard the last fews one sided conversation and was sad that Maan had to leave tomorrow as well though it was Sunday.

After breakfast..

"Geet" Maan called out

"Ji Maan"

"Aaj hum bhar jaarahi hai, chalo."

Hearing this Geet was surprised as well as happy.

"Par aaj aapki koi meeting hai na?" she asked confused.

Seeing Maan himself frown at her statement, she clarified

"I kind of got to hear your last night, last few conversations."

"Ohh, that one. It's nothing. Chalo. We are getting late."

They left, all the way Geet kept pestering where they were headed to which Maan replied that it was nothing just a long drive followed by lunch in some restaurant then they would be returning home.

While they were on the main road, which route Geet was unaware was looking around curiously. All of a sudden Maan parked the car pointing out his fingers in Geet's window's direction

"Peacock peacock"

He screamed what ever that came to his head that time. He thanked his stars for it didn't slip out as dinosaur!! 😂

While Geet looked curiously at the direction he pointed he was quick enough to blindfold her eyes with his hankie.

"Maan? What is this? " Geet asked being subjected to such sudden behavior of Maan

"Geet, relax. There is a surprise for you. So please till then have your eyes blindfolded."

"But Maan.. "

"Please Geet. Mere liye."

Geet didn't question him further and seeing her sit down without a question Maan resumed his driving. Geet like a good student obeyed Maan and didn't probe him for the rest of the journey.

After some time she felt the car stop then heard huge gates being opened, after which the car resumed.

Though how much ever she was tempted to remove her blindfold she didn't because that would be like spoiling what Maan had planned. She actually felt happy to be getting a surprise from Maan.

The car came to a halt and she heard the engine go off followed by the opening and closing of the driver's door, which indicated that Maan was out of the car.

Next minute Maan was by her side, opening her door and helping her out of the car.

Maan walked her a few steps before opening her blindfold.

After the cloth was removed, Geet eyes took time to adjust to the surrounding light.

Maan intently watched her facial expressions while he stood behind her holding her shoulders with his head turned towards her.

Her surprised face looking at the site infront of her, which turned into confusion as of what she was doing there then she looked at her surrounding with a cute confused frown.

"Maan! What are we doing here? Kisski jaage haiye?"

"Darling, how's the place? " Maan ignored her question asking his own, while Geet blushed with the endearment.

"Aachi hai. It's beautiful!." Geet exclaimed as she took in her surroundings

"Phew, it's good that you liked it."

"But what has it to do with me liking it or not?"

"Because we will soon be residing in there "

"Ohhh " Geet just took his statement not really pondering over what he said. But when it did seep into her brain she shrieked out

"KYA? "

"Arre Geet, aaramse. Itna kyu chila rahiho? Mere kaan phat jaye gi.. "

To which he saw Geet turning around as she softly whispered again "kya? " as of asking him if she heard him right, and Maan nodded his head in affirmation.

Geet looked at her front, taking in the beautiful house, nope scratch that, their beautiful mansion which would soon be their 'home sweet home'

She turned towards Maan and hugged him tight in her happiness.

Nope she didn't lust over the huge beautiful richness filled mansion. She was happy because she will not be haunted, their present house had left them with too many scars and with them leaving there only had the difficulty in healing them.

Geet prayed for a solution and she was indeed rewarded in a way she hadn't ever dreamed.

Maan understanding Geet, hugged her back in happiness for finally having her smile not in pretence but smiling heartfully.

Both stood there lost hugging each other out of happiness, peace, relief and love when another white car parked just behind there's, and a certain someone looked at the love birds with mischievous but particularly at Maan with a winning smirk.
