Sarfarosh. When the stars had a press conference for its 20th anniversary there was talk of a sequel too.

Yea I know this has nothing to do with the topic. But I wanted to say it anyway smiley36

What’s a muslim name ? smiley42 Isn’t Muslim a religion and not a language ? Religions now have copyrights on languages as well ? Again reminds me of Oh My God movie Govind Namdev sir’s dialog - Bhagwaan pe sirf hamara copyright hai ! smiley36

I personally love the langauge Urdu and Arabic, find them so artistic even though I dont understand most of it. smiley43 Same way I love Spanish and find it sexy though I dont undetstand it smiley16.

To conclude my mann ki baat - Language par kisike baap ka raaj nahi hai (except Meghna Gulzar and Farhan/Zoya, their baaps really own part of some languages beautifully smiley43). smiley36

Love the name.

And even loved the fact that finally a baby getting father and mothers name. Mothers name is not getting eliminated in future generation.. All female stars just talk about feminism this that but never give their surname to their kids…

god bless Dua!

at the end of the day, if parents like a name then they have every right to give their child that name, it's their child. we all know deepvers child will be bought up as a hindu, so it really doesn't matter what the language/religious origin of her name is, it's just a name, and they chose as it means prayer and she is the answer to their prayers, and that is beautiful!

i used to study with a girl called sonam, both her parents are muslim and pakistani, and sonam is a hindu name, they chose it because they just liked the name.

and i love that their child has both their surnames, padukone singh

Main Bhagwan se DUA karta/karti hoon

Main Allah/Ran se DUA karta/karti hoon

Maine Bhagwan se MANNAT manga/mangi hai

Maine Allah/Rab se MANNAT manga/mangi hai.

Words like Dua, Mannat etc. might have their origin in Urdu , but they also a part of our daily religious parlance, irrespective of the religion.

It is a beautiful name for a beautiful baby girl -- a dua, a heavenly wish that every parents not only wish for but also absolutely need...

Ok this is the post that started all this debate.

Had to read few earlier posts to reach this and something interesting caught my attention. DP’s, her parents and sis’s names. Something on similar lines could’ve been Divya or Deepta. But kinda old fashioned for gen alpha

Read my comment (pg 7).it's not very common but some muslims do keep hindu names...in some areas of Bihar ,married muslim women even wear mangalsutra and sindoor..
