Check the trigger warnings before you do. I read it despite knowing it would be triggering for me just so I could participate in Book Club but the descriptions are pretty graphic.

Nothing triggers me anymore, I can read anything as long as it has a gripping story. I don't just wanna be reading sex scenes with no back story.

Has anyone read the Mindf*ck series? I'm seeing this one recommended all the time and tbh was holding back from reading it so far cos of the TWs but I've read some seriously twisted Psychological Thrillers recently so I'm thinking I maybe ready for this one?

Any advise?

Read it, Lizzie... read it! It is a romantic thriller with excellent details and a compelling plot. I recommend it if you do not mind the triggers!! I must mention that the writing style is different, poetic and really adorable.

You read it? I did not think it would be in your area of interest. Thanks, Madhu, for the rec. I’ve just got hold of the e-books and plan to get to them soon - right after I finish my current book: The 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I’m a little wary of the TWs but I can always DNF it if it gets to be too much.

most of the ones I’ve read are by Freida too! smiley36

The Locked door - really enjoyed this one.

The Housemaid series

The Wife upstairs: read this one and Verity back to back and got pulled into a Rebecca/ Jane Eyre AU! smiley36

Local woman missing was good too but the ending lost me.

The silent patient

None of this is true - this one was twisted af : couldn’t put it down.

If the author is well-known, I always like to snoop around all genres to learn about their unique writing style.smiley1

I do not like TWs for some reason; the author practically gives away the theme with them! Rules are rules, and everyone must abide by them, but there will also be drawbacks!smiley1
