I enjoyed the second episode much more than the first tbh. Yesterday the friends group annoyed me and I felt the acting was horrible but today I warmed up to them a little? And I think it’s mostly thanks to Saba Hameed taking charge of that Ammar dilemma. She has great screen presence. One good thing KRQ does is that he gives wholesome family dynamic in some form. In Gentleman it was Zarnab and her dad and here it’s Sadaf and her mom. So I didn’t mind the division of screen time. It made sense to me and Wahaj had plenty of scenes where he shined. For me he owns the screen whenever he comes and leaves a lasting impact. I loved the sober scene he had with Ammar. The car scene with Namdaar Mirza. I felt his hurt and embarrassment. Then the long talk with his other girlfriend (that actress played his sister in Fitoor, by the way
). And then how he nailed the emotions in the graveyard. I did wish the graveyard scene was longer. But that’s about it.
For me the real appeal in the show is obviously Wahaj and as much as I’m enjoying his performance, I’m not going to get greedy about it because it IS an ensemble cast and the story has to make sense too. And Sadaf has a whole muhalla of family and friends around her. And we know her marriage to Ammar is the first phase of the story so that will be set up.
Excited for Humsha to join the story next week. Bilal really needs someone now. Someone to talk to who doesn’t judge him. Bilal Abdullah, despite his many vices, just makes you feel so bad for him. Wahaj is really nailing this role. His styling is on point also. So far he’s the constant thing that’s working for me.
I agree tbh.
I am in fact loving Bilal and Namdar's equation a lot 😂
Wahaj was SO ON POINT the way he mimicked Namdar's..the stress on please was so apt.😭😂 Bilal is unintentionally funny with his sarcasm and i love it 😂😭
I am already invested in Bilal and connected to his character. He is written really well so far and Wahaj is acing the game....if one were to compare Hamza, Bilal, Murtasim, Zaid or any other rich guy roles which Wahaj played earlier, one can see how even the rich guy roles are differently played. Wahaj is just so versatile.
I love his drunkard act. The hoarse voice adds so much realism. These nuances are crucial and Wahaj brings them in his performance really beautifully.
I love how despite being an alcoholic and a womanizer, people will still feel bad for Bilal! The credit goes to the writer and actor for this....to bring that vulnerability and sadness without the dialogues is crucial for this role and Wahaj has pulled it off so well!
Coming to the ensemble, my fav scenes so far have been Bilal and Namdar scenes. And in yesterday's episode Sadaf and her mom's scenes were good! The Mother shined!
I am not invested in the trio of Sadaf, Amar and Dania that much though. But I liked that Dania asked for her money back 😂
