Honestly, I have not one episode where she has dealt with her professional life practically. Being a young lawyer with no connections, it is difficult to set up an independant practice and make enough money to have a decent life. The first few years are rough and you have to do whatever you can to float your boat and from what I have seen, Abhira wants to be a legal aid and help people like her mom did, not a corporate lawyer. But what has she done? She has withdrawn cases without informing clients, burst out at them due to personal problems and the mad family she married into has made everything else highly impossible. WHERE is the practicality here? I need to see her do well, be independant and be a solid woman but all I get is her taking beatings after beatings, cry for her abusive in laws and now 2 minute behan. It feels like the spark with which her journey began is gone. :(

Also saying from experience - it not easy to talk back to someone who is both elder to you & holds the top position in your household, no matter how wrong they are. I am not advocating women to tolerate abuse or to be doormats & neither will I say that kranti karo aur apne liye lado. I will say just one thing - we would need to respect their choice, while they will have to live with the consequences of their choices.

I guess that since this is the harsh reality, people want stronger and revolutionary representation on fiction through which they can live vicariously if not emulate them. Maybe that is why the reactions are so extreme when the negativity goes beyond tolerance levels.

Not denying that at all but imo her spark has dimmed immensely. She does not have just weak moments anymore, she has become a weak, watered down version of her past self and that is what bothers me.

If we normal humans start connecting or relating)to these pathetic ITV characters then world would become funny place. (Imagine people connecting and relating to sugan chudail version of Ru)

ITV audience that gives TRP are mostly middle age or old age women so they like family ko extra importance dene wale leads more. So that's the reason makers show these things, as simple as that.

I’d rather have an FL who actually takes practical decisions, can stand up for herself and her loved ones, can differentiate between right and wrong, is affirmative, sane and calm headed than someone who will pull stunts like swag se swaagat and challenging the family matriarch that she will shake the foundation of the PF only to turn around and beg for her validation and take a job at the same firm a few months later. Abhira has the best intentions but her actions and dialogues always end up giving her completely opposite outcomes which is the problem with the writing.

@bold I haven't seen a single ITV FL who took practical decisions. Is there any?

It's again boils down to how little a thought is that put to female characters. Their trauma. The abuse they go through.

Its ok if Abhira takes all the time in the world to gather her courage back. If there is one character that deserves all the support and time. It's her.

Even then she would never be her chirpy self again, because that chirpy girl use to live under nurturing shelter of her mother

This one has been battling a huge army. Since past one years. Mostly alone.
