Being a Bengali, Durga Puja is around the corner 😍😍. Also belonging from gujrat, Navratri's vibe is something else in my city. Abhi 10 baje ambe maa ka Puja shuru hogi in my society, then dhire dhire log garba karenge. From 5-6th day, garba will take it's full force and whole night people will play garba only.

You are very luckysmiley42...In my society garba does not happen everyday although I would like it to.....Since covid everyones enthusiasm has also gone down...smiley19

Bold- Yes, the present border was almost invisible and fluid.. Especially the worship of Vitthal-Rukmini and Abhangs.. Most ppl living in areas like Belgaum, Dharwad, Hubli and Gulbarga speak passable Marathi and ppl in Solapur, Akkalkot n Gadhinglaj in Maharashtra have major Kannada speakers.. Some of my relatives who live in Gadhinglaj district are equally proficient in both the languages.. Even the traditional mangalsutra design that brides wear is almost similar..

Anyways Happy Navratri and Pujo!🎊

How do you guys celebrate??

Not much hype like Ganpati here too, somehow we're still hungover, imo! 🤣 Some ppl do have ghatasthapana which was today.. tho my mother's native place in Kolhapur has the Mahalakshmi Temple where there's this big rathutsav happening.. Us at home just have an akhand diya.. Dusshera will be enormous..

Yes hopefully is baar koi problem na ho. 2021 ki memories are still there. Even this time extremists are on breaking rampage.. khair I know it's not the correct thread...but if possible please share some pics here...

P.S. do you know that the name Dhaka is actually from Dhakeshwari Devi who was considered the goddess of that area and a form of Devi Durga

In my hometown Durga Puja is like most beautiful time of year... It's all festivities throughout. There are huge Puja Pandals across the city. You can't explore all even if you try for 3 days... On Ashtami we do Pushapanjali. Earlier my parents used to have Kalash sthapna at home and used to fast... That was such a beautiful time.. now with their old age they aren't able to.

Here in Maharashtra, Durga Puja isn't so common, Navratri celebrations are there and in my compound too they have set up Garba nights... But till last year I did search and found out a Durga Puja pandal for Pushpanjali...

We avoid non veg during Durga Puja (9 days but Bengalis do have it as feast).. Even Bali happens on 8th and 9th day and those who have it done eat meat as Mahaprasad...
