How fast time flies..BG was a headache back then but I do not think I hate it that much now mainly due to nostalgia lol ..

Interestingly, I think this is how most sequels/franchises work: it's not necessarily that Part 1 of every franchise was loved. It's nostalgia that talks.

People remember things such as where and what they were doing in life, when part 1 of a film released. If life was good back then (most likely, as we all love to romanticize the past!), then they attach fond memories to part 1 of the franchise, even though they may have not liked the actual film much when it released. Hell, maybe they just attach fond memories to the music of the film, rather than the film itself!

The nostalgia gets them interested in part 2!
