After numerous denials news finally comes that Snoop Dogg has in fact recorded a song for Vipul Shah's Siing is King. A source from the film says that the song has been recorded with British Asian rock band RDB, Akshay Kumar and Snoop Dogg.
"The song has been recorded and it's all done and dusted. In fact it will be launched on June 8. It is a very different track… rap meeting bhangra meeting Bollywood. The video has also been shot too," says the source.
The source adds that producer Vipul Shah wanted to keep this information under wraps and wanted it to be a surprise and therefore no announcement has been made as yet.
"Akshay is very close to RDB band members. In fact they have been a part of many of Akki's songs. Even when he performs live they are often invited. So when Siingh is King was being was being thought out Akshay asked Vipul to consider RDB as well. And then RDB suggested about speaking to Snoop Dogg and doing something radical."
"It didn't come easy. There was a lot of back and forth between Snoop's people and Vipul and RDB. But finally everything fell into place and now the song is going to finally hit the airwaves soon. The video is going to feature Snoop, RDB and Akshay moving to the beat of the song which is extremely catchy," says the source.
Siing is King star Akshay kumar, Katrina Kair and Sonu Sood. Directed by Anees Bazmi it marks the debut of Vipul Shah as a producer. Shot in India, Australia and Egypt it is one of the most expensive films to be made in bollywood.
