With a new head coach and a new captain, the Men in Blue will look to continue their victory run, after it defeated Zimbabwe 4-1 last month. The series will be very interesting.

The T20I series will be followed by a 3-match ODI series where stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli mark their return alongside youngsters like Riyan Parag and Harshit Rana. The ODIs will commence August 02 in Colombo.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the entire white-ball series.

In a series that will witness a host of new faces at the helm of both sides, the Men in Blue and the hosts will be gearing up for a transition. Suryakumar is bracing up for his first series as full-time T20I captain while Gautam Gambhir takes over as head coach. Meanwhile, Asalanka takes over as captain from Wanindu Hasaranga with Sanath Jayasuriya becoming the interim head coach.
