And if keep up with their individual promise for Arshi and continue with the non-chalance and successfully so, we would just have to digest that how they built RuNak up and how they made us believe in their emotional connect was just a farce! Yes it definitely would be unfair for Ani and RuNak but at least it would give us the closure of sorts and rid us off this conditional and selective morality, that the characters conveniently suffer from, at the writer’s will !

In fact the annulment, in hindsight I consider a good thing to happen. If they wish to be together, they should consciously choose each other because they want it due to their love for each other not any compulsion. Love winning for love is its best reward.

Bold - beautifully put… among all the din, the emotional infidelity angle gets glossed over but it is a very central theme here.

Underline… Absolutely agree… my post was getting too long so I didn’t focus on how their bond formed and to me, the wedding was a like a way to meet, a catalyst of sorts and it was all that they experienced together that bound them together and made them fall in love with each other ❤️

Bold - if Runak is the endgame, and I mean unequivocally not as a EMA or some kind of lollipop…I would say the emotional connect built so far is justified because it would be unthinkable for the bond to resurrect at this stage when there is more certainty in Ani Arshi relationship… which is why I hope they handle the next track in a more sensitive manner…

My expectation ( though I don’t really expect) of the next track is Ani’s helplessness and his understanding of Jhanak’s wariness of the past becos his current situation mirrors Jhanak’s past situation

Today’s Jhanak is a more free person and this liberates her thinking too. She is able to see the world for what it is Her emotional anxiety would be about Ani and the wrongs done to her but her growth would come through in handling this sensitive state. Till now we saw Jhanak holding back but perhaps this time we will see her holding forth

When I asked the question what is the sanctity of a relationship thrust upon by society… I meant Ani and Jhanak’s temple wedding.

I like to play the devil’s advocate on this issue because I find this concept of “forced wedding” an oxymoron of sorts; I mean ITV has almost aced this bond to Ultrapromax level…and in a country where there are more people usually marrying by bonds arranged by their families, I assume writers have been able to use such tropes because there is a general consensus that marriage alone confers sanction on such relationships. Once someone is married, kuch bhi ho… bas wahi bond maani jayegi… well it’s another thing that most makers use this trope to make sure the two people in such a bond girte padte fall in love..Even where the hero (not sure if they have tried with heroine) is in a committed relationship with someone else, he will finally only recognise the shaadi over anything else…

Now coming to Jhanakland, That temple wedding was to all intents and purposes a wedding that they both didn’t desire? It was a bond formed by the pressure from society.

They went to great lengths to hide that bond, not to submit to it. That they fell in love along the way is another matter. Yet even to each other, they used only euphemisms to describe it usually. Frankly, their secret wedding in any serial would have caused viewers to be sure they are the real deal and be certain that these two would walk into the sunset. Yet, the character trait of the ML and situational dynamics of FL ensured that this would be a moral dilemma that would stop the relationship from progressing…. To me in some ways, this is a first (?) of sorts where love ( in whatever shape or form) was being prioritised over a marriage ( in whatever shape or form). To add to that, they went in for annulment too… Then they went ahead with the wedding of the so called lovers which just stopped short of a few rituals before hell broke loose!! The FL took a stand of leaving the hell hole she had inhabited prioritising her mental health and well being over love. Today the Kolkata gang have given sanctity to that relationship which is considered to be of the supposed free will of the two lovers, where the free will of one is highly suspect, words notwithstanding..😜

All in all, an interesting situation from the perspective of a viewer who is purely looking at how the story is building…. I know if we get emotions, sensibilities etc involved it gets murky. is the writer trying to get the protagonists to face their worst fears not just voice them? Will their love be strong enough to shine through to prove that all the sanctity in a relationship is derived from from only the heart’s desire? I don’t know and frankly I don’t even know if I will like what they will show.

For my own sanity, I am just skimming through episodes now… but I have to say they have the story poised at a difficult point..It’s a risky move but you never know

Right now feel that is the revolution being tested by the writer and so widely not getting accepted .

Like you mentioned it is always been shown as marriage stands above all relation and we are always taught and set our social environment also as per these beliefs.

I am personally not a fan of this eternal love type drama ....the male lead who loves only female leads , but sacrifice for family and ultimately comes back to her...

I hate such stories , since they are stories , I always feel why show this when they can straight away make them one.

Love stories like you said earlier should be have happy endings. We are always living in a fictional world to watch what is missing in real life to an extent . I dont think when we fall our partner would immediately carry us in arms and walk the whole house ...but watching it onscreen gives us happiness.

But having said all this when they show a story about three people, specially when there is already a couple and a third angle comes in ....its a complication altogether.

Like here ...who is the third person its unfortunately our Jhanak.Before her entry to Anirudh and Arshi life they were happy, going to get married .Arshi was also shown good. She turning bad is later for the story to progress ..else its their story , their life .And the third angle who comes into picture is always a sweet natured one making the other villian. That is why even though we hate Arshi she cant be ignored in their life. That is why the writer did not make the character vanish till now. She is relevant in they life until they stand for their love or for once being married.

She is a human being who got trapped between these two. Same like how they were forced to get married . The marriage was never accepted by them as they felt it has cheating Arshi. They both are good hearted human being who kept their promise till now . Sometimes I feel Arshi cant be blamed . They hide their marriage from her ,and after exposing also they didnt take proper stand ....the feeling Anirudh had as husband ,Jhanak somewhere feeling the need of acceptance of being his wife and in between somewhere they fell in love . They didnt speak openly neither did they address Arshi ..

Both are good at heart who wanted to keep Arshi happy by sacrificing their love , but all this lead to her insecurity. Even now in her trauma she is only worried about Jhanak returning to her life in between them .

So these two needs to address themself first and then be clear about their feelings to Arshi .

Or just sacrifice their happiness for the sake of love .

Love is so that it just happens , whom can we blame .. .neither Arshi ,nor Anirudh , nor Jhanak

May be they are trying to say its love that matters above all .....has we see couples falling out of love and adjusting the whole life. Its entirely a different topic to think about .

This is definitely not a normal way of story telling...as the marriage was shown with full rituals , then the annulment , now going back to their own life .

And this event not just made their relationship complicated, it did not let them move apart instead brought them closer sub consciously, where he became the sub conscious husband feeling “zimmedar” for J who he sub-consciously considered his wife! And she yearned to be his wife and do her wifely duties, despite the moral conflict that it would seed aka ditch her didi!
Despite all the wrong doings of Shrishti, Arshi n the BH evil clan, I am looking at the current situation as pashchatap that both Ani n J are undergoing for emotionally cheating Arshi! As with their love n longing for eo, they have indeed cheated Arshi.

However, if that be the case, the scales should balance out, so where is karma returned for Arshi, Shrishti n the evil clan?

The issue is J’s mahaanta and her not letting her mom’s name get tainted at any cost! The second one is too strong a factor to break free!

Only n only if Ani is faced with a death threat kinda situation due to Arshi, would J budge n rise to protect Ani- the reason has to be an extremely compelling one for J!

As for Ani, he is up for sell, like he has always been, by the makers !
