i don't disagree with anything you have said below, it is Ani excusing. You are giving reasons for his idiocy and also calling him out..but softening it with reasons why he is so

So my take below is not to counter, since I agree with most of your points. It's just to express my frustration after giving the show so much time.

Leaving out J and her mistakes, since they cannot excuse Ani.

For most of the audience, like me, love for Ani is because of love for Krushal - his acting, puppy face, looks, voice mannerisms. If any other not so good actor played Ani, we would all likely have bid adieu to the show. If you say Ani is an idiot but I love him bcos of Krushal, yes. Justifying Ani - very difficult.

Ani in non defendable...when you say he takes the story forward - how? by insisting on marrying Arshi whom he does not love - no matter what?? IMO thats what is causing the drag. You cant blame J or Arshi for it. He is a grown successful man. If they ask him to jump in a well and he does it, they are to blame?

Ani is weak, and he has an excuse - his conditioning. His conditioning never comes into play with Arshi. Only with J, and why because he cares for her deeply? God save us from men who react badly because of the strength of emotion they carry. His conditioning has no impact on his job, his love for Appu di, Arshi, but when he misbehaves with J or is confused or selfish or unfair, or exerts unfair authority, it's his conditioning?

Simple story is Ani is guilty over his emotional cheating, and has been overcompensating Arshi, he made his bed to indulge or insult J and is lying on it. No sympathy no excuse. A man who cannot stand up for his love or does things to hurt his love as revenge, does not deserve it. He has neither been true to Arshi nor Jhanak.

When he opened his heart to J - yes he did - how?? manipulation and even after she gave in completely and promised her support, next day he does a 180 and feigns ignorance over the ILU...? why? If you cannot admit your feelings and have to hide around illness, how can J trust him with anything. Only an idiot will accept the scraps of love he is offering her. J thukraofied, of course she did. She did make an attempt to support him and what did he give her in return - zero support in BH, apologized kowtowed to Arshi in front of her, questioned her on why she was getting involved with his wedding matters, ordering her to not go to Arshi's house, said he was cheating another girl with such arrogance. All this does not sound like love to me. It sounds like control, selfishness, haq, manipulation, irrational behavior.

Many times when pushed, J has asked him to come out with it, but Ani can never voice his love for her, he uses tactics - either pretends illness, goes mum or says do i need to spell out everything or says forget it. Why?

Ani wants J and shows he cares for her, but has never made J feel important enough to be his wife. He has only re-iterated and underlined what Tejas told J - that while he may love J - he will never give her the respect, and she sees it playing out everyday.

Whatever the reasons for his current behavior, he is someone one should run away from because of what we;ve seen to date, he cannot be trusted. He is going to bring J and Arshi a lot of grief. But hey both J and Arshi seem to be ok with it, they are not walking into anything blind...its only us as audience.

I cannot believe how Kashmir bhukaar track got the least trp. Those episodes were gold. Never can believe it's the same writers who write BH crap. I swear there are 2 teams - the Choton Bodoma Ani writers cannot also be the toxic BH - Arshi is my wife - writers - impossible.

For the few nuggets of lead pair gold, I'm putting up with this toxic show, but do need to vent eevry now and then. Done now.....

Yes, he is weak and he has been shown to be weak all along ! That's been pretty much his survival strategy, that he has equipped himself with , for 28 years now!

Hence the web of lies! And it somewhat runs in the family, if I look at Chhoton and his "Laxmi" drama, that he eventually twists in his favour!

These men in this family, do not have the guts, to stand up and say the truth or say what they WANT !

And truth be told, we have families in our societies, where parents emotionally blackmail, manipulate , twist children (both sons and daughters) to make them do WHAT THE PARENTS WANT !

The emotional blackmailing starts with "Hum logo ne tumhare liye, kitna kuchh kiya, we sacrificed so much to bring you up!" etc.etc.

I have watched such children , grow up to be young adults and adults eventually, from close quarters and they are always left double guesing, doubting their own decisions , sometimes devoid of the power/ sense of taking decisions even and being indecisive as a result!

The childhood conditioning never taught them to 'man up' coz they have been conditioned to fulfil some one else's dreams and wishes ! Their marriages/future relations end up being disastrous for some!

It is so important for parents, to understand the concept of consent and let a child specially who has now transitioned into an adult, to just be !

For Ani now, it is, "Yes I love J" but big deal ! It is the same for BH ! They know Ani loves J but big deal ! So many people love so many others!

Ani will probably go through a journey from being a pacifist to a rebel, but he would need enough wind beneath his wings,enough motivation from J , to be able to do so !

There is a lot for him to un-learn, simply coz he is 'conditioned' in a certain way, to look at life n it's problems/situations. Some one needs to guide him and show him there are other ways of dealing a situation, rather than pleasing everyone! Maybe Minu?

Also, probably mis-treatment of BH at Arshi's and Shrishti's hands could help him turn into a different leaf!

The way he loved J, exposed his vulnerable self to her, he has not done to any other ! When that love got thukrao'ed , mujhe aj tak kisine itna nehi thukraya, he went bezerk, he has gone bezerk before as well.

If Arshi thukrao'ed her, he wouldn't feel such extreme pain, coz his feelings for Arshi were never this deep enough!

His way of showing his grievance is revenge from J , again an extreme emotion that he has kept only for J ! He is not spiteful towards anyone else really! Qki no one ever stirred him up, the way J did!

Side Note - Ani remembering the Mudur pulao scene, when Anjana says you did not trust J, shows how dischorded and disoriented the writers are atm as it made absolutely no sense !

Sadly, all this is fetching TRPs, keep Ani this way, sometimes doubting J's intentions, other times saying ILU to Arshi, is generating the needed hype, positive/negative doesn't matter ! Till the time, the TRPs don't dwindle, this crapfest wouldnot either !

The other fact, that can't ignore, is the Kashmir hug and SR dream scenes did not fetch the TRPs as much!That could have caused a nosedive for RuNak!

Yes, whatever good, bad or ugly Ani does, that is what is taking the show forward!
With J’s solo journey, that has changed a bit but not sure for how long!
Also, everything that you have mentioned should have stopped fetching them TRPs long back, but whether it is the love for Krushal or the uncertainty of Ani, that has still been fetching TRPs still!
Why else are any of us even remotely hopeful of RuNak happening, given how red a flag the ML is? In real life would we? Makers are riding on this success and they will take Ani from being bad to worse(no limit to the low levels) till the TRPs keep flowing! Did they butcher any character this way? No, they have either white washed characters or made them mahaan, Do you think they can afford to morally flip J’s character? No they can’t! They have taken that liberty with Ani and made him the hero and the anti hero! Now they have brought in a Guruji who has similarities with Ani with regards to the good traits, but that makes him boring n unrelatable too
