When you connect the entire drama it makes sense about how Anirudh behaves ...

The issue comes up when we look up to the drama as only love story or only leads story .

I so loved how you put their relation, it was not love at first sight (SR dream dialogues ,I was not convinced back then nor now). He had sympathy for her ...then the protector,supporter ,mentor and somewhere in between he developed feelings for her and fell in love with her kind nature.

Yes , he stands for right and justice .He cannot leave Arshi on her condition , as its not her fault at the moment .

His love fir Jhanak is firm but ta the same time he isn't blinded by love ....

1. Protector

2. Mentor/Enabler

3.Lover

Plus he is an innate protector, it comes naturally and effortlessly towards anyone who is in danger/weak/in need of help!

If a time comes when Lover Ani reigns supreme, that’s when he will be able to sincerely build RuNak up!
For J also , her trigger is, if Ani is sick/in death bed- her protective self is visible, then she does anything and everything to save him!
