When he says I love you to Arshi, it means a lot more to her than him. He has faked his feelings for her. We just did not think much of it, because we all hated Arshi and we thought he would come to his senses sooner or later. He is confused and divided about his feelings for two women. Given this trait, it also makes me think sometimes, he said I love you to Jhanak on the train as well... if he wanted to he could have said it right there and then more loudly. But he did not, let Jhanak go...

If not for Tejas he was ready to let her go from the very beginning. So him saying I love you to Arshi after that heartfelt confession to Jhanak in Kashmir, was it character assassination?

treating marriage like a relationship as a joke and taking all the rituals for granted...This is something common between Jhanak and Anirudh. They both treated marriage as a joke. Both decided to marry someone else even though they were married. Did not think about the other person's feelings that they are going to get married to. Then should it come to us as a surprise when they did not accept their marriage and let it end so easily?

What we like to think of as character assassination is that just part of their character? I believe it is. We just did not accept it for one or other reason as we love them and did not want to accept it!

it feels like the character itself which being explored currently… we want our old Ani back

Read my second post on this… I love you has been just another word for Ani for longest time … isn’t it? We were all so annoyed with “I love you Arshi” before the said I love you to jhanak … he has been very casual about it …

How would they even think of believing it as a sacred? The fate brought them close but filled their hearts with confusion and manipulations. What their current state is right now had to be blamed on the constant negative feed to their brains by their past events only. Now we can also bring how their personalities have added on to the chaos. Whether Ani and J are struggling to trust each other’s words, or professing their feelings in another way, they are still far away from accepting each other as the real deal. They are defenseless and vulnerable and can’t indulge themselves into the matter of acceptance unless they get more support emotionally from people who can declare to them that their relationship is legit and worthy of keeping for a life time!

Yeh she didn’t trust him either may be because he said that to Arshi hundreds of times in front of her.. and she could see how he treated her … woman have sixth sense for such things !

No wonder she took it as he is talking crazy in fever lol 🤦🏽‍♀️ …

I agree the situation of their marriage was bizarre ! No one would have accepted it to begin with, don’t blame them for it … but we all wanted them to accept it later on ! We all blamed them for not accepting the marriage and not valuing the institution of marriage. 🤷🏻‍♀️ when you are in a Mandap in front of god , doing all marriage rituals but you decide to not accept it. But you again do those same rituals with someone else and decide to accept those instead ?

The fact of the matter is , the annulment that happened so late should have happened very much in the beginning if they really didn’t have respect for that marriage.

The marriage thing is too complicated to explain for sure, like you are saying multiple things involved which I understand. But in the end of the day both do take things like this for granted. So it shouldn’t have come as a shock to me when they signed annulment just like that and let it all end… because they are marrying someone else just like that without holding feelings for other person.

The makers seriously need to make some distinction between his I love you to J and his I love you to Arshi! It’s insignificance and inconsistent to his feelings for both. This has to be the most dumbest twist because it doesn’t make any sense.
