Rajeev Khandelwal has recommended a film which created history in the Hindi film world.
The movie is sacred to the followers of Indian Cinema. Recently, someone tried to mess with its image and the goddess of Bollywood didn't go soft on that person. Yupp, you guessed it right, it's the one and only Sholay.
Rajeev says, "The reason I love Sholay is because it's got the most wonderful screenplay and of course, fantastic dialogues. Those dialogues made the characters who recited them immortal! Who can forget Gabbar Singh's Jo Dar Gaya Woh Mar Gaya. He adds with gusto, "Those who haven't watched the film yet have truly missed a breathtaking experience."
When Rajeev was asked to pick his favourite character in the film, he says, "I love all the characters in the film because I'm a die-hard fan of the movie as a whole." On second thought, he says, "I guess the popular choice of favourite actor would be Amjad Khan who played Gabbar. Though he played a negative role his character left an imprint on the minds of people like no one else."
Sholay is the story of how a police officer gets his revenge on a dacoit with the help of two petty thieves (the famous duo Jai & Veeru). But there is more to the story than its basic plot. It deals with friendship, love, widow re-marriage, loss of a loved one and the power of perseverance through problems.
