Nhi, every character in the show is supposed to think about ABhira before themselves or they are disappointing character. They watch shows only from FL's perspective. Madhav is best because he is with Abhira. They don't care that he literally abandoned his family without a note, but the same people were angry with Armaan when he abandoned Abhira.

I dont think the two can be compared. Vidya is in the middle of entire family. Madhav is staying outside to support Ab and not because he abandoned Vidya. Ar’s abandoning a girl who has no one in the world and no job and no place to live when he promised Ab’s mother to take her responsiibility for avoiding the danger of being left alone is at an alltogether diff level.

Madhav is a very flawed character who has made many mistakes

his approach to fix Abhimaan also has been flawed. he created roadblocks not opportunities for them to talk.

he couldnt prevent Kaveri from ruining everything despite knowing his maa's ability to create MU

he is unable to get through to his own son. he has failed as a father to Armaan.

Armaans conditioning is because Madhav let him be treated badly since childhood.

The only thing he is doing right which he should have done ages ago is to physically stay with abhira. He claimed he would walk out if Abhira wasnt in PH but that fell through. divorce happened and Abhira got thrown out again and she has suffered a lot. road par bhatki, went hungry, had no job ,no money. beti bulaya hai but he didnt care to follow up either on her, but finally he is showing some consideration to that child by giving her a roof to stay in and a physical presence of a comforting figure who she can talk about her pain with. she trusts him. But he is gonna lose her trust if he hides the DP issue for too long. because everyone has been letting her down. if Madhav does the same then Abhira is gonna be very hurt.

he has already messed up by not mentioning DP issue.
