Bhatt's bitten by the reality bug again! | 2008-05-29
All set to cash in on yet another true life incident!
The Bhatt camp has always been quite creatively challenged. That's exactly why real life incidents form the crux of their stories.
Kudos to the wonderful alibi of realistic cinema!
Some of their movies which are based on real life incidents are'Zakhm', 'Arth', 'Woh Lamhe' and many more.
Of late, Bhatt's nephew Emraan Hashmi has almost become omnipresent in all their movies. Guess, anything that comes cheap will do!
Just recently he played a bookie in the last Bhatt movie 'Jannat' which was inspired by the death of former Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer. The movie didn't go down well with the critics and the general public alike.
Obviously for trivializing and making a joke out of such a serious issue!
Now the Bhatt's who are so well known to jump on all opportunities for cinema, are set to make a movie on the horrific Neeraj Grover murder that took place in Mumbai recently.
Some 20 days ago, TV executive Neeraj Grover of Synergy Adlabs was murdered brutally by small time South Indian actress Maria Susairaj and her boyfriend, Naval officer Lt M L Jerome Mathew.
Mahesh Bhatt has his eyes set on making a commercial entertainer out of this ghastly incident and that too, so early on!
That's called out of the box thinking!
The self proclaimed spokesperson of Bollywood was quoted in an entertainment tabloid saying, "We are working on the script. The story will be told through the eyes of police officer Rakesh Maria, (Jt.Commissioner of Police, Crime, Mumbai) who cracked the real-life case."
The script will be written by Shagufta Rafique and it will have a good budget. The film will be directed as usual by Mohit Suri.
Their biggest USP anyway is Emraan Hashmi and another set of lips.Now, that doesn't look too expensive at all!
It's being said that the Bhatt's are not trying to sensationalise the murder but make a film which will explore the reasons that dictated such actions. Knowing the Bhatt's it's quite hard to believe. They always say things like that, but at the end of the day their execution turns out to be shallow and insensitive.
Hopefully this time around they will understand the gravity of the incident and not handle this sensitive issue with their usual romantic angles or songs copied by Pritam from some godforsaken source!
