Karan Johar goes grey… |

Karan's getting older...oops forgot to throw in a 'b', bolder, we mean. Contrary to popular 'filmy forecasts', KANK (Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna) is not going to be the Dharma variety sugar-n-schmaltz. "That is true, people keep cribbing that I make the same kind of films all the time. So Shahrukh & I jointly produced Kaal. The theatrical receipts spell good news in terms of business but some self-styled trade pundits have yet to stop ripping the film" he laments. "And after Kaal, I am now on to KANK and as things stand, I should roll in September and release it sometime next year" And different means, he still has the best cast, a huge canvas, outdoor locales…Karan butts in just here. "Yes I have all these, but KANK is going to be bolder that any of my films so far. All my characters, be it Abhishek, Rani, Preity or Shahrukh have shades of grey in the film. The film is an emotional roller-coaster all-right but rest assured KANK will also showcase relationships like never before" he says, throwing in an interesting conjecture. But Karan's characters have always be 'goody-two-shoes', 'nice' and 'pristine'. "Well, that exactly is my challenge. KANK is going to be a huge deviant as I am now going to deal with people, more real" he says excitedly. |
