Actually similar things happen in Hindu community as well. Forget about Muslims, I see people disowning their sons and daughters for marrying people who belong to much lower caste though now educated and does same level of jobs.

UCC by ALL means is the NEED of the hour. There's a Javed Akhter's interview which should be watched by ONE and ALL, it would mostly affect Hindu's adversely where many states have their own 'State Laws' which are downright patriarchal, demeaning and offensive. But again, why should we have different laws in 1 country ? No matter who it serves purpose for, all in for UCC. Hope it's applied with proper process now, not with Bulldozing attitude.
