Part 51

Maan laughs and banters with Geet light heartedly until the sun comes up and she stopped talking.

He finally hears her soft breaths after she had fallen asleep.

He whispers her name once to be sure. Hearing no more reply, he disconnected the call.

Next day evening

After her shoot gets over, Geet dials his number.

Maan looks at the caller id.

He wonders has this become their daily ritual.

He picks up the call.

M- Hey! Whats up.

G- Busy ho?

M- No. Say.

G-emmm…5-10 min hai kya….kuch baat karni thi….paison ke baare mein….if you don’t mind…

Negligible tiny frown appears on his face.

M- You want money?

G- What? No No. Main ye nahi keh rahi. Mere paas paise hain.

M- Then?

G- Mera matlab tha…maine kuch paise save kiye hain…aur baaki mere yahan collegues bol rahe hain ki yahan invest karo…wahan invets karo…toh…tum hi batao kahan invets karun?

M- You want financial advice from me?

He asks confirming while a small appears on his lips.

G- Yes. Mere pehchaan mein jinko bhi main jaanti hoon, money matters ka tumse zyada expertise kisko hoga.

He smiles happily taking a comfortable seat and signaling his assistant to not disturb him.

M- Fine. You can invest in PF if you want safe investment, or insurance. Else mutual funds are good too. But you need to diversify them Best is sticks and if you want more then invest in start-ups and seed fund. I say portfolio should be a good combination of everything. Derive profit from market no matter in which direction it goes. But you are a early investor, you can start by playing safe. But on other hand why should you play safe. Play big get big.

Geet ke dimaag ka toh short circuit ho raha hai ye sab sunke.

Aur confusion ho raha hai.

G- Mere paas itne bhi paise nahi hain naa.

M- Mere paas toh hai naa. Mera investment idea aisa rehta hai ki….

She cuts him in between.

G- Tum hi kardo.

M- Huh?

G- Tumhe jo thik lag raha hai kardo. Maine sab bhej diya hai.

He looks at his phone.

M-What?? You have sent me all your financial details? What…you…?

G- Haan toh! Tum thode mere paise le loge.

M- But you know you shouldn’t be sharing…this is all confidential…

G- I know. Tumhe hi toh bheja hai. Aur kisi ko thode bhej rahi hoon. Tujhe jaise thik lage dekhlo.

He frowns looking her transaction details.

M- What is this personal bank account? There is a transaction every few weeks from your account to that account.

G- Oh. Who toh main ghar pe paise bhejti hoon naa.

M- What??? You are still sending money to your ungrateful toxic family??? Did you forget what they did to you??? Seriously! What is wrong with you??

He sounds genuinely angry.

She is quiet.

G- But…. they…are family…

She mumbles.

M- So what???

He takes a deep breath to calm his anger.

He knows he shouldn’t react like this, it’s her life, her money.

But he is unable to forgive her family after what they have done to her.

M- I will look into your finances and invest stuff and will let you know.

G- Thank you.

M- I need to go now. Bye.

He hangs up.

She calls again.

He picks up.

M- What? I told you I will look into the finances.

G- Maan. Are you okay?

M- Why would I not be okay? You are being stupid, but your life.

G- I am not. I don’t hold grudges.

M- You should. Else this World will throw you away like garbage after using you. You are just blinded by your love for your family. I cant say, I understand it but I get it. But do know when to stop.

G- Its not because they are my family or anything. I don’t hold grudges for my own peace.

Maan scoffs

G- I could have held grudges against you as well.

Geet waits for his retort, but she just hears him take a deep breath on the other side.

G- Say something.

M- What?

G- Blurt it out!

M- What could you have possibly done if you would have held a grudge against me.

G- Nothing

M- Exactly

G- That’s the point. I could do nothing. So, holding a grudge would only destroy my peace. I chose to preserve what I could.

He is silenced by her wisdom, he never thought like this.

G- Do you hold a grudge against me?

He is taken aback by the question.

M- Whahh??? What? No!

She smiles

G- Okay then

M- Okay. Bye.

Maan has to go on some business trip, and he informs Geet over the call.

Geet is also curious.

What's so special that he is informing me separately?

He tells her that it is kind of high IP project and some govt dept may also be involved. So, he would be out of touch for about a month.

Although he has made all preparations, but still in case of any emergency she should contact the assistant OR the lawyer (who drafted their marriage contract) .

G- Will you be any sort of danger? Do you have to go?

Maan laughs and reassures her that it's just tightly secured environment to avoid info leak.

M- There is no danger of any kind. But it may extend from 1 month to 45 days.

So, he wants to inform her forehand.

She randomly counts on her fingers.

It was almost month and a half since the last met.

And he is going again.

That would mean almost 3 months.

Seems like some important thing is being missed.... But she couldn't put her finger on it.

Well I really appreciate that Geet & Maan have that trust now that they can hold each other in tough times

Poor Geet 😂 she got totally confused by the financial advice that Maan gave & finally put that work on him as she knows it will be the best way

Hmm 🤔 Maan is annoyed to know that Geet is sending money to her parents but I really loved her maturity & Maan realised & then said nothing

So now Maan is going on a business trip & he specifically informs Geet about it
