FYI, there's no such thing as female philanderers. Men and women's sexual behaviors aren't viewed the same way, so there's no female equivalent of a philandering man.

Oftentimes, it’s the philandering guy’s wife who get shamed for being a doormat, looking the other way while men are often praised as “casanovas” or “philanderers.” though the negative connotations are there, plenty of people admire these men’s behavior as a sign of charm or prowess, which isn't the case for women. Just wanted to point that out. 🤷‍♀️

Exactly... When we guys refer to some girl as chaloo or chaloo cheez it definitely doesn't mean clever

The basic meaning of chaloo is streetsmart, i agree but chaloo being used for streetsmart happened in ancient times. Now it's almost entirely used for a different offensive meaning (which I don't want to write here).

But for an example - kisi ladki ko bolo maal lag rahi ho. She might take it as a compliment if said in a good way. But kisi ladki ko chaloo maal bol ke dekho. Kitna bhi respectfully bolo agar thappad na padey to kehna

Edit - for guys I think chaloo is still used for streetsmart but for women it has negative connotations.

I used it in the context of clever or got inspired by Mr. Norway vs Chatterjee who calls alia by this name. Some people are thinking too much, lol
