MI fought till the end but have lost in the final over. The wicket wasn't the flattest for sure and that meant the bowlers did have a say, for a change that is. MI scored only 144 earlier and that I think was never enough despite this being a sluggish wicket. LSG were clever in the chase as well. They kept Bumrah at bay. Picked their bowlers and got those timely boundaries to stay ahead in the game. Rahul looked solid and Stoinis got a fifty. That covered most of the chase. They lost a few wickets towards the end. But Pooran held his nerves to finish it off in the final over. MI remain with three wins out of 10 games. Their chances of making it to the top four is very bleak now even if they win all their games. LSG though have strengthened their chances of making it to the top four.

Hardik Pandya: I think losing early wickets is tough to recover from and that's what we couldn't do it (recover) today. You still have to see the ball and hit. We just missed those balls and got out, that has been the kind of season we have had so far. I have always believed that you will be up and you'll be up, just that you got to give it your all. A lot of things to learn from this game. It has been fantastic. I think he did last year as well, he couldn't get opportunity earlier, he will play a lot of IPL and (represent) India eventually.
