Hello Vira (assuming this is your name, please let me know if not?),
Yes I am a bengali, will explain a few I remember !
Apu di said "Kutni (complex/evil) Buri (old hag)" today. It is an expletive !
She also said , at the proposition of TMW 2, entering the family - "Eke Ram e rokhkhe nei , Sugreeb dosor" - As if one Ram ( TMW1) is not enough, we now have his friend Sugreeb (TMW2) added to the mix!
Also, the poem that Chhoton says to Mrinalini yesterday, is a nursery rhyme - did not understand the relevance except for the makers urge to throw in some bengali willy nilly
or they wanted to rhyme "Borgi" with "boring"
Khoka (Baby) ghumalo (slept), para (neighbourhood) jurolo (is peaceful)
Borgi (soldier) elo(came in to) deshe (the country/place)
Bulbuli te(name of a bird) dhaan(crop) kheyeche (eaten), khajna (lagaan) debo(give) kishe (how) ?
The baby has slept, so the neighbourhood is at peace
Soldiers have come in the country or place
But the Bulbuli bird has eaten all the crop/wheat, how will we pay the lagaan ?
