I feel thats how her character has been shown since beginning. I wouldnt call it childish. But as many in the forum say chaotically cute. Makers give her random dialogues which doesnt make sense.

I partially disagree..

They are not the best ITV couple

But yes they do have the potential if they're given good scenes and dialogues and most importantly good story..
