Me too. Aur ye baat chahe kitni bhi baar bolo unke samajh nahi aayegi because the world is a binary and there is no nuance possible. If you criticise Anupamaa's actions, you must be a fan of Anuj because for them that's the sum total of their identity 
it WAS anupama's decision anuj was just a PART of it just like allowing maya to stay at there house, betting on her daughter, declaring that MD was his mother to anuj PUBLICLY and so on....
Anuj had complaints regarding this .This is the reason he left her and went to live at Mumbai.
God barai was conducted by both Anuj and Anupama and it was not Anupama's sole decision.
She suppressed her longing to serve Shahs for 5 long years and underwent deep penance by living in solitary confinement devoid of worldly pleasures. Don't you see this as some sort of "Mahan Balidaan"? How stone hearted you are! Even Almighty had to bow down in front of this supreme sacrifice and eventually reunited her with her phemily. The bottled up emotions and longings erupted and she directly landed at her baa bhagwan's feet, gleefully massaging it and reminiscing good old times she spent with her. What a moment it was! Her mother, as it seems, was unconditional in her support. They even moved to Vadodara. Imagine her mother at that age agreed to move to a new place.
What did she do with her life? What did she do to fulfill her maksads and sapne?
Why did she live like a "jogan" (whatever that means)?

Here you came back to square one. I already told that things in this show is vague and ambiguous. Divorce happened within 3 years of marriage while the prerequisite is to foster the kid for minimum 5 years. So how they got the legal right to relinquish/acquire her custody? Things have been left to viewers interpretation and you are presuming stuffs on your own? That's why I told you not to go into legalities else you will be lost.😂😂😂
They r said to be legally divorced as discussions about alimony during divorce has been shown in the show. In one of the scenes Shruthi had questioned whether Anu has claimed any alimony from Anuj during divorce when she called Anu a gold digger. Also when V doubted Anu might have done robbery when she got arrested ,Kinjal countered his accusation saying Anu hasn't claimed any alimony from Anuj during divorce. From all these dialogues it is very much clear that MaAn is legally divorced and like alimony there will be a mutual agreement regarding the custody of the child.
I don't presume things. just stating u facts which r shown and said in the show.
