Although brief, I enjoyed today's episode. While things felt rushed, we're finally making some progress. The initial village vibes are slowly returning.
Surya obviously swiftly wrapped up everything with Bulbul's in-laws, with no more than what we saw in the BTS. I'm disappointed by how quickly they brushed off the domestic violence issue. But it's ITV, so what can you expect ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We're finally getting some soft eyelocks moments between Surya and Imlie. It feels like ages since we saw some ITV tropes; it was refreshing to see Imlie's dupatta caught in Surya's watch, their shyness, or her removing the petal from his hair.
Arjun is truly his mother's son, and I love his dedication to Team SurLie. He’s exactly what we needed in the show, he’s bringing in so much lighthearted energy.
However, my eyes were begging to be popped out of their sockets upon seeing Surya's shirt, but Imlie looked so beautiful that I almost forgot about it. It's been ages since we saw her dressed up in a saree with her hair done. No wonder Surya was awestruck; she looked stunning. This guy is pighlao-ing hard y’all, he hasn’t even seen all of her charms yet.
There's something in the jhopdi air that sparks the cheeky side in these boys. Imlie’s poetic pun wali sorry really reached his heart, ajeeb ladka hai. Surya’s line about his nishana being on her is so cheesy, police wale type flirting but cute.
He really could not take his eyes off her in the purple sharees. It's a repeat outfit, but they styled it differently, so it doesn't make me sad thinking about the old memories associated with it.
They even used classic Imlie romantic music for the first time in a while, which made the scene feel so nice. The way Surya grabbed Imlie's wrist, I hope they get interrupted by Mami or have some nok-jhok instead of another angry reaction from Imlie.
We thought we were done with the bar singer shaming but guess not, Nirmala is pulling out all the cards. A much better villain than we believed her to be in the beginning. Surya will definely come in Imlie’s defence, another set of brownie points for him. Imlie will hopefully continue softening up towards him. I don’t want this to lead to another argument, we’ll have to see if it messes with her education again.
Also can I say how Malti is a different level of delusional if she thinks that her husband is innocent after shooting both Imlie and Surya. Her mother is enabling her at the moment and even Tayyi isn’t correcting her anymore. If she’s going to stay negative, can we get more screen time for Chachi instead?
